Let's say the Lakers were able to sign both Paul George and LeBron James with the cap room they've been able to secure with the Russell/Mozgov trade the only other way to get a third star to play with LeBron and George would be a trade. Should the Lakers make that move by dealing Ingram and Ball? Not sure who it would be maybe a guy like Westbrook if he's told OKC he's planning on leaving? It's a star studded class so maybe a sign and trade?

I wouldn't trade Ball at all. I think he is the future of this team. I also want to see how Ingram plays in his 2nd season before making a determination on him. Plus what if Ball and Ingram turn out to be stars themselves?

I think they should keep Ball and Ingram and do whatever it takes with the rest of our assets to sign PG13 and Lebron. Then do their best to plug up the holes.

We are not in the 90s/Early 2000s anymore. No one wants to play for a "big market" if they aren't winning. High quality players only want to play for winning teams, I don't get how the majority of you guys don't see this. In 5 yeas we COULD HAVE had; a top 5 pg, top 5 sg(dlo), top 5 sf, and a top 10 pf in Randle.

Could've, would've, should've. Russell and Randle haven't progressed like we hoped. No guarantee they get signficantly better.

George has already made it clear he wants to be a Laker. If that happens and you can convince LeBron you're one legit superstar away from being a clear and present danger to the Warriors.

I'd make the move if it's a LEGIT superstar to complete that trio.

i think they are hoping ball and ingram become the home grown stars. While the two max spots bring in two more stars. You need 4 stars to win nowadays/

Ball would be the other star. He'd be the Rondo in your scenario.

Why? Two starts is not going to beat the Dubs, if anything we should hope Ingram and Ball become starts so we can pair with the free agents we are bring in in to match what the Dubs are doing. You need 4 All-Stars on your team to have a shot, not two.

We need young players to grow with the veterans.
We now have 2 excellent prospects that fit our vision for the future.

Same way SA was set up.

Nope, we would have a good mix of youth and experience at that point. It makes NO SENSE to go through the pains of rebuilding only to trade them all for guys in their last 5 years.

Honestly, Westbrook would probably suck on this team. He needs the ball in his hands all the time. Can't imagine, he and Lebron playing well together. Ball would be a much better fit IMHO. I think Ingram and Ball will blend super well with PG13 and Lebron.

Best possible outcome. Trying to go further with it, would just muck it up.
