Messenger bag? Nice. I like to get one. Forgot about my gym bag I got from MyCokeRewards from years ago. Very plain looking with no zippered pouches. But hey I got it for free and use it for my night job.

Have a black leather messenger bag that's been my near-constant companion for 20+ years. Holds two laptops and a bunch of papers, chargers & other supplies, etc. It's with me every day at work, on every trip, and for everything NBA-related.

I'm impressed that you've gotten 20 years out of it. I carry a satchel that is sort of a cross between a messenger bag and a briefcase -- it is more appropriate for a lawyer going to the courthouse. I have to replace it every five years or so just due to wear and tear.
