That's straight up cold blooded murder. What a shame, that chicken (bleep) cop should be behind bars right now. Killed the man in front of his daughter too.

And so should the jurors

How they find kkk sympathizers for jurors is beyond me

Public isn't trained for scary black people .. bla bla bla
.. Kareem was called horrible racial epithets by what would seem like normal everyday citizens

What that cop did could be forced into a HATE crime...

#1 Heightened adrenaline due to traffic stop
#2 Check race of person being stopped...
#3 Oh, already did that.. that is why I stopped them
#4 Check notches in belt.. "have I killed a (bleep) yet?"
#5 Knows that killing a person gives him more cred on the force

^^^^^^^^^^^ (bleep) ass Humans are willing to kill before even engaging their brains..

Take the badge off of the cop

REMOVE it

Put him in front of a jury

Electric Chair... plain and simple..

I'm not a fan of vigilante justice, but if someone tracked down that cop and put a cap in his head, I'd buy that person as many rounds as they could drink.

No flashlight used

Says he called in the car and didn't pay any attention to who the drivers name was etc and in the end says how there was a clear on NCIC warrants etc

Officer Jeronimo Yanez was charged with second-degree manslaughter and subsequently acquitted.

Philando's name lives on.

In the article, it appears the prosecutors were not even asking for much...

Quote:
Prosecutors were upset by the sentencing because they sought a 30-day jail stint along with getting his law enforcement certificate taken away for life.

I would think "getting his law enforcement certificate taken away for life" would have been automatic

yea, low goals. I'm not a lawyer but can't you charge murder? or it has to be pre-meditated?

I skimmed the article, but it appeared to be an accident, still would have thought an accident with such serious damages would have resulted in a more serious penalty.

it was an accident. My thinking is if the prosecutor intended to plea bargain, should've started with the higher charge

Read it, see if you still think it was a accident.

Yeah, I mean the article said the trooper handcuffed the guy and didn't properly secure a life vest on him....then a wave/wake knocked the guy out of the boat and the life jacket came off.....and due to being handcuffed, he drowned. Isn't that how you read it?

I have no idea of what actually happened, but the article does not insinuate the trooper purposely did not secure the vest, and hit a hard wake in an attempt to toss the guy overboard knowing that his vest would come off.

OK, I was thinking OP. I hadn't read governator's post. I too think it may have been a accident. He's a 18 vet who recently began doing boat patrols. I assume he wasn't that familiar with life vest and how to secure them.

I don't agree with the sentencing. His being a law enforcement officer is still undecided.
