dozier has done literally nothing to earn the second 2 way.

Best defender at the PG spot in the dleague

40.1% shooter from 3

Worse than huertas

D league.

Huertas was one of the best international PGs yet in the NBA he was a scrub. I expect the same with Caruso. Enns would have been a better non guaranteed signing. He at least has proven to be solid against legit NBA players.

Marcelo averaged 8/4/2 the year before he came over..... I'd hardly call him one of the best international PG's

Facts. I liked Huertas too, but Caruso has much more of complete game. He's really scrappy and it looks like he is already liked by his summer teammates. That speaks volumes because the summer league is basically dog eat dog

That's enough for a two-way contract. I'd say his defense is legitimately good, though.

I do not necessarily agree that it's enough. A matter of opinion, I guess

Although Caruso shocked a lot of folks in Vegas, it wouldn’t be a surprise to the people that had the opportunity to watch him play for the OKC Blue. With the Blue, Caruso stood out as one of the finest defenders in the entire NBA G League, as he averaged 2.2 steals per game. Coinciding with that, Caruso was a huge reason why the OKC Blue stood as one of the best defensive teams in the league, as they held opponents to 101.8 points per game, the 2nd lowest average in the NBA G League.

Also shot 40.1% from three with 5.2 assists 4.9 rebounds. He is a legitimate nba player, just needs to find a spot on a team. Best defender at the PG spot in the d-league

A young Steve Blake!

I knew that comparison was coming.

He's srappy, deceptively quick, high basketball iq, a regular gym rat . Did I miss any cliche?

Can't prove it until you get a chance to prove it. Right now, Caruso looks like he might be better than Ennis. Yes, against DL and SL. That is enough to earn you a chance to prove it at the next level. You know, some very good NBA players start out shining in those leagues.

For those who didn't read about two-way contract on South Bay thread:

- There is no cap hit
- He's a G-League player, who can be called by the Lakers only for 45 days during the season.
- You can't sign drafted players (Bryant) as two-way, unless you waive them before
- You can't sign players with 3+ years of NBA experience (Ennis) as two-way

If Huertas was 6'5 and had any semblance of a 3pt jumper, he probably would've been a more successful NBA player.

Personally, at the other end of the floor, I also like players like Cedric Ceballos, who get themselves open and scrap for points. They move without the ball, crash the offensive glass, they run the floor hard, they cut, they finish plays strong around the basket.

Offensively, Nwaba is not very skilled in the way of... well, skills. (To be perfectly redundant.) But he does enough at that end to practically add up to being a 2-way player. He's not just a dead spot standing at the arc launching shots he has no hope of making. He is really quite useful at both ends of the floor.

He should have gone to NBA earlier. He was already in a clear descent before joining the Lakers.

emplay said that since we waived Nwaba we can now sign T. Mamba to a 4 year deal that's very team friendly...he'll make the 15 imo.

People like Pelinka must read tweets from reporters that suggest we could do this and

I think Momo suggested it...T. Mamba is on the 15 no doubt.

Yes, his defense is real, not hype

Thanks for the reminder, I had forgotten that 4th point.

I'm hoping it's not the same for Teodosic. I hope the Clippers suck, but he does well.

I'm hoping Caruso's defense translates against NBA athletes, but he certainly should be better than Marcelo.

He's 30 years old and was never athletic to begin with and was always a question mark on defense and defensive effort. Idk if his ceiling this year is even Marko Jaric.

Yeah, I don't think it'll work, but it'd be fun if it did.

Great signing. We needed a pg for the bench and got one. All he needs to do is give Lonzo 15 to 20 minutes of rest a game without surrending leads. Congrats Caruso.
