KD said OKC provided meals or cooked for the players right? At leastper Paul George that is what he said.

The Lakers should do something similar for the players. Meal prep, provide meals after practice, after games. Something just to keep them fed with clean food.

Well the Lakers bought a cow and divided it between three people

I keep hearing that Zubac is in the gym more than anyone else. Perhaps he needs to rest his body a bit. He seems to be just a little bit off and lacking lower body strength. His shots are close but not falling with enough regularity.

Yes he has been disappointing but I had been hoping for dominate performances and he has just been okay. I keep hearing that his body looks so much stronger but his quickness seems to have regressed and his touch around the basket just isn't there right now.

I still think he is a real talent and will be much better once we get to the regular season. He will be in the rotation and should improve upon last season.

Seems like Zubac has been getting his shot blocked a lot this Summer League. Whatever happened to the Skyhook?

He's showing the ball too early on those post ups - needs to implement some pump fakes and start taking it up STRONG...

Sluggish, like a wet sponge...

seriously though he looks slower. I dunno what happened. its not like he was explosive before, but he has an injury or something.

he has been playing better the last couple of games though.

I think with Brook Lopez on hand, a legit 20ppg scorer, the 2nd unit will be a sleeker and faster group. I think in order to get Kuzma some minutes, they may have a run/gun 2nd unit that puts Nance at "center" with Lonzo and Kuzma so the bigs are constantly running out.

Truly hoping for Zub's continued growth, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's playing less than 15mpg.

Agree with this. Lopez is gonna get minutes and there are only so many minutes left for lumbering 7 footers these days.

15 minutes actually sounds kinda generous actually.

Zu will keep working though and I still think something is wrong with him at this time. By the time Lopez is gone, he will be ready.

Suggestion:
I played with speed and quickness. At one time, I played a lot against a small scrawny guy who I figured I could just bully when I had the ball. The result was an on court wrestling match that resembled Kwamay futilely fighting for layup position.

It took me a while before I realized that basketball is easier when you go around, not through opponents. It made all the difference. That's what I see Zubac doing, trying to use strength instead of elusiveness. He's getting shots blocked by going into guys and showing the ball without being able to jump above them or effectively neutralize their bodies.

(After ending the season on the DL) in his exit interview Zu talked about not giving up his starting spot. Was pretty intent on it. Moz had responded that it wasn't going to be that easy to stay in front of him as starter. Off-season comes and new management starts throwing some pretty intimidating rhetoric about conditioning and playing time. It's clear everyone is going to have to prove themselves again and that patience is a luxury not found in Lakerland.

LA trades the guy who got Zu all of his open looks (Russell) for a guy that is definitely going to be the starter (Lopez). Then he gets hammered in the press in his home country for skipping national team play (per a LG poster) and comes back to summer league with a completely new cast of players save Ingram who plays one game. He's working to reshape his body and clearly doesn't have his feet under him yet. Lonzo runs the team at hyper speed as opposed to Russell who played at a more comfortable pace for Zu.

He will be fine but it may take another six months. He's only 20.

He's a big man that's thinking too much. I thought he was out of shape, but now it looks like he might've been working a ton and is now overthinking what he's worked on.

He needs to get pissed and just play from instinct. It'll happen sooner or later.

Funny thing is, he's probably 100x better in space and quickness wise, than Bryant..

I think Zubby will be OK, he's still figuring out what he needs from his body to excel in the NBA. He's got skills that can't be taught, when his body develops he'll be a top tier center. Love the guy too, they better not think of trading him.

Yea. Something is not right. He supposedly has been working extremely hard but he has somehow regressed. Fatigue from his workout regimen?

A 20 y/o fatigued? Cmon. They are working with professional trainers. If anything, he needs more conditioning work.

You an overtrain you know, if you aren't giving your body the proper recovery time.

Doesn't explain his 1 inch vvertical. He was never a high flyer but he's moving like he's glued to the floor.

One would expect Zub to finish a SPL game. Not a great sign for him.

Zu cost Lonzo at least 4/5 assists this game with his constant failure to finish worth a (bleep) damn.

His lack of effort on both sides of the court is a total disappointment.

He's been disappointing, but I'll hold off on judgement until after training camp and the first few preseason games. Not looking good based on these games. Something happened to his mobility and lift over the course of the year, and I hypothesized it was the shift from a healthy Croatian diet to the standard American diet. He looks incredibly sluggish, despite the coaching staff saying he's been one of the hardest workers on the team.

My opinion: looked like Lonzo was getting visibly frustrated with Zu a couple of times during the game when he blew a finish or when he passed up great looks. Zu's confidence is shot right now, imo.

We went +16 once Zubac left the game mid-way through the 3rd quarter. Down by 7, won by 9.

Let reserve judgement, he hasn't been that good but he's young and still building a regime. He'll be fine, be patient.
