If Puig can continue playing like this into the fall we are going to be really tough to beat. I have been his biggest critic the last couple of years mostly for his mental approach to the game. But this year he has vastly improved his game so far.

Amazing comeback, down to their final strike and Puig delivered.

His relationship with his teammates is the best it's ever been. You can tell he's bought in and has the mentality that Roberts wants from him. In the past, there was always a rumor here or there that someone in the clubhouse was upset with him (even Kershaw!). But you just don't see that anymore.

And it's all because of Dave Roberts. What a manager.

Yeah. I definitely see a difference this year. We all knew he had the physical gifts. It's really nice to see it coming together for him.

Another comeback, this time by the bottom of the lineup.

#7 Pederson - Single
#8 Grandal - Walk
#9 Puig!!!! - Home Run!

It is someone different every time.

Dodgers have held back trading away their top minor league talent ... and I think we can see the positive results. However, the time is NOW. Need to make that big move.

Dodgers need some serious left relief upgrades. Get that top left handed reliever. Unlike Chapman (Cubs) last year, neither Hand nor Britton would be rentals. Hand (3 yrs) and Britton (2 yrs) of team control. Build that bridge to the best reliever in the game.

This team is magical. I've never in 30 years of watching baseball have I seen a team THIS clutch. It's just absolutely bananas.

I don't want to get too excited but 29 years has been a heck of a long time.

So glad the Dodgers kept Puig. I know a lot of fans wanted to trade him because of those couple of bad years he had but I always felt he could always bring back the magic if he kept on working on his game and kept his focus.

I am too. I'm eating crow as I was ready to see him gone. It's not just his play on the field but he seems to have turned it around in terms of being a pro. The team just has amazing chemistry right now (see all the Boys in Blue at Kenley's wedding in the off-season). It's something special we're seeing and it's such a great mix of yound and vets.

it's also really nice to have someone in the 8th spot that's not an automatic out like we had the last few seasons.

Not eating crow.

I'd hate for us to give him away like we did Beltre. Premature move (I know Beltre had a career year in his last season in blue at age 25) to simply give Puig away when his best years are ahead of him. Give him a chance under his new management regime, and he'll hopefully mature into a consistent disciplined hitter.

But even I couldn't predict the resurgence in his at bats lately, keep it up you wild horse!

Does Wood need a certain amount of innings to qualify for cy young? Wood, Clayton and Scherzer right now?

At least 162, I believe. 1 inning per team game played. Today's our 92nd game, Wood is sitting at 83 2/3 (as of the third inning in Miami). FWIW, JT needs 3.1 PA per team game played to qualify for BA. Although, in a batter's case, if he is short PA at the end of the season, they'll add however many they need to his total to get him there.

Grandal and Puig are our 7th and 8th hitters. Let that sink in...

Thanks. I hope they both qualify!

He's gone 6.75 innings in his last 4 starts. He has to maintain that pace I think. He has entirely too many 5 inning games this season which hurts his cause quite a bit.

I hope he qualifies but it's important to pace him to be fresh for the playoffs too. Tough balancing act.
