I don't think that sentiment applies. OP is specifically talking about draft positioning, not what Kuzma or any other pick will do in the RS. Draft is a crapshoot, guys picked high often bust out. Question is, did the small school prevent Kuzma from going higher than 27. I think it did after watching his highlight videos. I was chuckling at 26 teams not finding anything to like there. He's arguably more well-rounded than Larry Nance who went at 27 too. Then he played well at that needless combine and it still didn't move the needle. If he was a more notorious rotational player at a big school like UCLA, NC, Duke, he would've been more known. _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL

Lonzo will definitely help make it easier, but I think Julius is going to make Julius a lot of money this year as well. |

I hate when we try to credit a person with someone elses success. Kuzma is the reason Kuzma is looking good. |

Too soft for a big guy. At least Kuz does not mind contacts and he will battle inside but Wilson is like a butterfly floating around the perimeter. He remind me of our Space Cadet. |

A NBA 3 point shot is very hard to make.
To be able to do it in competition is even harder.
To be able to do it with ease in your first games as a pro over and over again?
Very very impressive, this guy is a player for sure...hater give props to Maglinka. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

Never understood the fascination with wilson. There was a German guy on that team that had much bigger impact on the team. |

What's sad is that Mitch really liked Porzingis (not Okafur who everyone thought the Lakers would pick) and kept going out of his way to say this. I almost wish he went with his gut. |

Fair. I am victim to overexcitement over his SL play, but he does seem to make the right play. Big Game even highlighted the defensive sequence yesterday right before he ran out to get that Peyton pass from Lonzo. He was covering the PG, shut him down, then instinctively quickly switched to the other guy I think Smith jr, who missed. That seemed really sharp for a rook on D. he seems to make good decisions and the shot and finding spacing looks sweet. But it's good to remember to tamp down the regular season expectations, for me at least. |

If you can play, you'll get drafted and Utah isn't considered a small school. They've developed lottery type players in recent history like Jakob Poeltl and they've also been a consistent top 25 team the past few seasons. The biggest question marks coming into the draft were his jump shot since he's projected as a stretch 4 in the NBA. But boy, has he impressed and silenced all that talk. He's been the perfect complimentary piece to Lonzo especially on the fast break and he's also demonstrated that he can put the ball on the floor and throw down an emphatic dunk. |

Outside of Booker, KAT and Porzingis/ maybe Turner that is. We had the right idea not taking Oakfor but it is too bad that DLO and Mudiay were the pre draft consensus best guard picks on the board.
Not sure how DLO impressed so much in his two workouts with the Lakers. I remember how the staff was raving about his passing IQ and ability to see the game a few steps ahead. Oh well, you can't win them all. Almost all of our other picks outside of AB3 have panned out, so that is actually amazing. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss |

KAT, Porky and Booker are potentially franchise changers. Turner is a game changer and the rest are meh. |

This!
That kid can flat out play...and a great many scouts/GMs missed on him. No way he should have been there at 27... Sucks for them...great for us.
Kuzma and Ball are a perfect fit together...we can only hope that Julius and Nance have a similar love at first sight experience with our new PG. _________________ "If You're Afraid To Fail...Then You're Probably Going To Fail."

Is someone insinuating that ebanks and caracter averaged 20 pts and shot 45% from 3 on a significant number of attempts during their SL stints?
Neither we SL stars...our last SL start was Kobe.
Lonzo and Kuz are putting on a nightly show the likes of which Devin and Derrick could have only dreamed of. _________________ "If You're Afraid To Fail...Then You're Probably Going To Fail."
