V Blue has grown on me. We should give him a 2 way contract! Why not?
He's a perfect fit for our style of play. Last on the depth chart at SG but could provide some key bench minutes if KCP ever got hurt and if we ever traded JC. |

I thought that the two-way contracts could only be given to players who have yet to play in the league? Blue has about 5-6 games under his belt between us and Boston. If so, he wouldn't be a legit to qualify. |

He started the Summer League as a strictly iso player and he never seemed to pass. As the games went on the team chemistry got better and it was clear that he was more willing to make the extra pass. |

I'd take him for a 2 way contract, yes he's strictly a simple iso bucket getter but injuries happen and we're not that deep.
2 way guards can only have like 60 days in the NBA or something like that right? It's pretty much injury insurance. _________________ “Life is too short. You have to keep it moving.” - Kobe |

Can we S&T Blue to the Jazz for Exum? We need all the light skinded bretherens! Even if they are from Australia.
Seriously tho, I'm still hopeful for Exum. He'd be a perfect combo guard off of bench. And the Jazz need a true SG. |

dude has 1 move...contact layup going right. He also has tunnel vision or trying too hard to show himself as a legit scorer. He never moves the ball and he is just too basic for me. Nothing about this guy stands out enough to merit a contract.
At least the balding white guy who just got signed makes plays and can dunk in traffic and has a shot. When lonzo is not on the floor we need pgs that continue to move the ball so the bigs don't go into iso mode just because lonzo is in the bench.
I don't really want to invest in vander blue who seems like a selfish player/gangster. MR dunk was more valuable and he gone so.... no thanks |

He's no fit .. iso player, the opposite of the game we are trying to do. |

When injuries occur, Sometimes you need someone
that can make 2-3 buckets; I think Blue could fill
that role. _________________ Lakers need to build a freaking team ! |

the is and always will be a place in the game for iso scorers....just because the trend is pace and space, every team needs a couple of guys who can score in iso.....see Kevin Durant. |

Attacking in a 1v1 situation doesn't mean your an ISO player. Call it the Lonzo effect, but he has really played well last couple games. Hitting the open 3 and even passing to the open man.
When Lonzo hits him in transition and he takes his defender 1v1 to the rim that somehow doesn't make him a good fit?
With all Lonzo's passing, someone has got to make shots. Blue is a shot maker. As long as he stays w/in himself and doesn't try to do too much he should be kept around. |

Blue is the type of experienced Jr League player who can score quite effectively at the Summer League/D League level, but against experienced NBA players his ceiling is likely NBA bench, not even rotation, based on what I've seen. I do like that he's started passing the ball, that's a wrinkle I haven't seen from him before. Nonetheless the role I always see him fall back on is iso specialist, his offensive game lacks variety, and neither his athleticism nor his size are at a sufficient level to overcome these shortcomings.
I like his role on this summer league squad, he's fitting in quite effectively, using his experience and savvy against less experienced draftees and other fringe NBA players, and he's one of the reasons we're advancing. That said, I haven't seen enough development to say he warrants a 2 way NBA contract, or that he'd last any longer in the NBA than he did his last 2 stints. |

Most likely he gets a training camp invite. I'm not sure if he goes further, but I did see some promising signs in his summer league play. He'll get his foot in the door if he continues making plays for his teammates, because most scouts know that he's capable of scoring (although I question his efficiency there). It's how he plays within the team construct that will determine his NBA fate. I want him to do well because he's sacrificed a lot for the south bay lakers over the years. He deserves a chance. |
