If we win the summer league championship I want the Lakers to hang the championship banner from the rafters of the staple center!

No way DSJ is 6'3. More like 6'0 - 6'1

Does he do anything other than drive to the basket? Honest question as that's all I saw (didn't watch entire game). I see he missed his sole 3

As those of us who watched Lonzo extensively, THIS is the Ball effect. There was never any doubt it would translate and will translate to the big club. Ball plays winning basketball. He has on every level. DSJ does not. Ultra-talented offensively, but he's selfish and doesn't lead and that's kinda important. Some people poo-poo'd that when Magic mentioned wanting a leader at the PG spot, but seeing is believing. Lonzo is leading the way on this Summer league team which by all rights shouldn't be advancing with the folks who have been sitting out on the bench.

from this game, he seemed to have a good jumper too. made some jumpshots and even a fade away.

He can shoot it a little bit and has a nice mid range game. He's a player for sure

Badly, but I understand if Lonzo doesn't play. Achilles injury is one of the worst case scenarios.

Let's activate BI to bring home the title.

Mavs were also allowed to reach like heck with no referee calls.

crazy shooting game. but 20 turnovers over 4 players (none for ball)
Ball hardly ever turns the ball over.

He missed by a mile. I was not impressed with DSJ. I didn't see a lot of intelligent bb from him, just some hops, speed and a nasty glare. Tough, athletic, but not smart from what I could see.

Funny how ESPN would put up stats comparing Ball/DSJ, and they'd only discuss the scoring or FG%, but totally ignore assists, rebounds, team FG%, or for that matter which team was up by 23 points and who got them there.

Ball >>>>>>>> DSJ

Suspended for a week, based on this comment and a history of other similar negative ones that add nothing to this site and provide absolutely no analysis. Thank you all for reporting this post.

Or throw Caruso to the floor - foul on Caruso.

Yeah that one where DSJ shoulder charges him and Caruso gets called for the foul for upending DSJ, while the camera shoes Caruso on the floor.

Yep - it's only summer league but after that I was pretty happy we sent them packing. DSJ was given a lot of leeway by these refs, not impressed by his game tonight, his primary impact on the game was physical impact.

I thought that wasn't the case when people kept saying that during the game but I wasn't sure until this graphic came up in the post-game. Folks having some recency bias...

This is summer league.

It's not even preseason.

And nothing counts until regular season.

I know after all the losses the last few seasons we are all hungry for another championship, but until we win the regular season finals, we won't be hanging any banners.

Steve Francis, Baron Davis, Derrick Rose, all hyper-athletic small(ish) guards with explosiveness whose careers were derailed by injuries. Will DSJ buck the trend? Look at the way he lands after dunk attempts, it's scary to watch. Even the successful dunk tonight versus us. His knees are gonna fail sooner than later from doing that
