Same. Now I wish we would have signed Matt Thomas instead of Caruso. But I like that Caruso plays some D. |
Caruso is a bit more all round player, he can dish, penetrate, shoot and defend. thomas can shoot at an elite level, but he is a bit undersized even for a SG (6.4) and his handling is at SF level at best. I like him as training camp invite, but is hard that he can improve much on other areas of his game at his age. |

We don't need him to handle the ball much with Lonzo on the floor. There's Ingram as well. If he could nail couple of open 3s on the corner from Lonzo's passes, well worth it as a bench player. We could use his shooting considering no one in our team is likely to shoot 40% from beyond the arc. Only guy who did it last season left(Young). _________________ Showtime 2.0 |

"The Legend" is about Alex Caruso. Matt Thomas needs his own thing.
I liked Matt "Summer League Klay Thompson" Thomas. |

It looks like he captured Kerr's form. The result comes from the form, but the form has to be right.
I was thinkin earlier that he'd fit on one of those Bulls teams LIKE Kerr. They had enough defensively to cover for him. _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL

Matt "Money" Thomas. Loved his ability to spot up and shoot. Wouldn't be concerned with his ball handling at the next level (if given the opportunity), he'd know his role. Shooters, will shoot! |

After a somewhat shaky start, Thomas had a really nice summer league. Sure he's earned himself a camp invite if nothing else. |

He can shoot the ball, I thought Wear would be the Sniper type player, although he did shoot ok, but Thomas extended his lead and percentage and earned the minutes. I think we should sign him or at least find a way to keep him in the Lakers Organization, rather it's on the G-League team or something...
I would hate to see someone else snatch him and he catch fire for them off the bench. Shooters is what our team will need and I believe it's apparent that we know that looking at our Summer League Roster and Draft Pics. |

Vander Blue's another Jabari Brown. No thanks. Straight line driver, poor ft shooter, inconsistent jump shot. Terrible decision making.
Sign up Matty Ice for our camp fodder and Gleague stash. |

we don't really need Vander (beside the obvious Blue-Ball backcourt), JC/Brewer/Deng can give back up/3rd string productions. This Thomas guy can be a cheap Ryan Anderson to spread the floor for the 2nd unit |

get this man a contract.
we need a shooter off the bench, even if he doesn't get PT, I'd rather have the end of the bench guys be exeptionally good at something. _________________ “Life is too short. You have to keep it moving.” - Kobe |

I hope Lakers sign Thomas. I see JC's "tunnel vision" in Blue at times. |

Don't disagree wirh your assessment but I'm looking at needs. We're going to sign a backup PG regardless who will take the bulk of playing time Lonzo doesn't play. What I like about Matt Thomas is he brings an element to our backcourt we don't really have. Elite shooting. Like, a poor mans JJ reddick.
Dude shot 44% from 3 in his final two seasons in college. |

Considering how much JJ Redick got from Philly to do basically the same thing.
Matt doesn't move as well w/o the ball running off of screens - but sometimes JJ goes overboard.
If they sign Blue to the 2 way that basically let's me know that Clarkson is a gonner. Vander's got some game - but he and JC are too similar.
Can't think of a comparable shooter even available right now like Matty Ice. For the price, I think he's our guy. |

Shooters will shoot but they need to get open and have some handles. I remember Kapono who was a tremendous shooter but he was slow, had poor handles and could never get a shot off. |

Trade Clarkson, bring in Matt Thomas and a real vet point guard.
A real shooter and a real passer....not a ball stopper who can't shoot 3s.
JC, you showed so much potential as a rookie, what happened to you? |
