Not if he's gonna hold us hostage with 1+1's for season on end, make decisions about who we should sign, lock up our cap, blame us for it and then bolt, leaving us with all the problems he left behind like he's about to do in Cleveland.

1 year is the trend.

Besides, if he's too old (like others are saying), 1 year is a blessing.

Life is short, play to win. There are no guarantees, so I'd rather take the shot.

Sounds like such a no brainer but I admit I'm conflicted on the possibility.

He's Lebron James. Likely with a buddy or two and an instant competitive team. Should be thrilled (and likely will be if it happens) but I have serious doubts too.

Not thrilled with some of the realities of when James brings his traveling show to town. He leaves teams in disarray after a couple years of his arrival.

I have concerns of his potential desire to want the max after 16 years of games on his body. We are talking $38-40m for 2-3 years. During that time all assets and players must be directed in his support. Every young player earned by disappointing losing seasons has to be on the table. It is about Lebron.

It will take time for any newly formed roster to gel. Doubt the FO or James can be patient with such a small and specific window of opportunity with legacy on the line. Can they be patient enough with the "untouchables"? Will Walton get the same treatment as Blatt? What does the roster and team situation look like in a couple of years after the James Tornado leaves town?

It is never James' fault when things are not right. It is always his supporting cast or coaches or front office. Who gets the blame with the Lakers?

I get the excitement over the possibility. Just not so sure I agree with it. I kind of like the collection of young players and coaches assembled. Honestly curious to see if they can continue trending upward and being increasingly competitive. The James Farewell Tour changes that significantly.

As a free-agent, yes. Trading for him? No.

Yes. He will still be one of the top 5 players. We would be fools to ignore him.

This is what puts me in the NO column. At this point in his career, he's not worth the trouble and the money. We'd be paying him $40M or so for us to promote his brand, not vice versa.

If we don't trade to get him, yes. Gotta be in it to win it. I don't like him, but I didn't like Malone and he turned out well. With Lonzo and the other kiddies, that could be a surprising team.

No question, Bron at 4 running out for Lonzo passes and operating in the half court with Ingram....yessir

ADD to that maybe one more marquee guy while keeping those 3? I think we'll be competing in the western conference finals in 2018 if they were able to pull that team together, 2nd year they are in the finals and could win

I've despised him since he started the "chalk toss" his first go around in Cleveland. I mean I want the best for the Lakers though and even though it turns my stomach in ways I can't describe...I'll accept it begrudgingly until the winning overcomes my hate.

I think that bringing aboard a max-player, late career (25th most career NBA minutes) talent is not the best way to build the first component of a championship roster. I am convinced he wouldn't stay three seasons. Pass. I think he's interfere with the Laker's best possible future.

Pass.

I have no problem with LeBron. I don't like the guy, but he's a Top-10 all time player (at least) and can help us win.

But, if KCP, Lopez and Randle have all a great season, I'd rather keep them and just bring PG-13. I don't know if a team with LeBron, George, a 2nd-yr Lonzo and 3rd-yr Ingram is enough for us to win.

On the other hand, if Lonzo and/or Ingram become superstars within 4 years, PG will still be 32yo, we'll have a solid base to compete and GSW will be past their prime.

Three all-stars/superstars (Lonzo, George, Ingram) + 3 solid/all-stars players (KCP, Randle, Lopez) may be a better contender than 2 superstars (LeBron/George) + 2 young players with great potential (Lonzo, Ingram). Even if it takes more time.

If LeBron comes, I'd like it to be a 2+1 contract. One year is too few to compromise the rest of the team for him and 4 years is a hell of a risk.

We don't know how well he will age, but I can picture a 34-35 yo LeBron still being a top player in the league. Beyond that, I don't know and I'm scared as hell that he has a major drop after that and locks our cap for the last 2 years.

I know the guy is an athletic freak, but the mileage he's got under his belt is no joke. He won't be a 36mpg guy for long and his best case scenario is a Tim Duncan career end, being useful in limited minutes. But he can have a Kevin Garnett sudden drop or a Kobe Bryant nasty injury. Who knows?

He would likely be sharing minutes with PG13/Ingram. Ingram is the key to helping keep everyone's minutes down.

Lebron would be nice if he comes, it would at least restore winning to the Lakers, but we will still need help to get another ring. Ball helps with facilitating and getting those easy buckets. Ingram and PG13, if he comes would give us the versatility and the depth, so Lebron won't get run into the ground, and have plenty in the reserve tank for the playoffs.

Uh, yeah absolutely. I think it makes it very unlikely we keep Ingram and Ball long-term though, as they could be used to get LeBron more help... so that's a bummer.
