Well, we tanked to a 26 win season. Now we have Lopez/KCP instead of MozDeng starting, add contract years for multiple starters and the Ball/BI high hopes... 41-41... Playoff, bring on the Dubs!!!

I hope we can cheer all season. Unfortunately, the decision to tank has appeared to have been a series of mid-season tack changes, not necessarily the club's preseason plans. Let's hope 2017-18 produces the best effort in Laker colors since, well, too damned long. Getting to 40 wins feels like a good thing to hope for, and though 35 wins seems to be the likelier finish, it's a direction I'm ready to enjoy.

32-35 wins sounds about right.

I don't expect that, but what a treat that would be. The highest rated first-round matchup in league history.

We can also end up winning 45-50 wins, so if 36 wins is likely then so is 50

So 70 wins is equally as likely? Your logic makes no sense. This isn't left up to chance. Skill wins out over 82 games

If 70 wins is likely so is 82 wins

If 82 is likely, so is 98.

I know right!
how many games would we have won if we didn't tank?
and is it conceivable to add 10 win to that number?

I hope we show more than just a mere 7-game improvement over last year. A better center, an arguably better point guard, a better SG, AND anticipated improvement from Ingram should be worth more than 7 games, right?

I'm hoping for 40, but I think 36 wins - a 10-game increase - should be a realistic target.

remember, while the lakers team is much improved on paper, they are still going to be relying heavily on two 19 year olds in the starting lineup.

and all of the stars from the east that came into the western conference. the west is going to be extremely tough this year.

I'm overly hopeful as always to start the season. 33 seems pretty close to right, but I wouldn't be surprised if they win 10 more. Well... a little surprised.

Seems fair. We were pretty bad last season after 10-10 start. Injuries derailed, but then looked bad once everyone was fit. Also not sure how legit was our late season winning streak. We beat tanking teams and others who were resting players like Spurs. West got a lot tougher and you cant steal many games against teams with top quality talent.

This team can easily win more than 33 games
Quote:
The main reason that they will win more than the projected 33 games is a simple one — chemistry.
With plenty of motivation and more doubters to prove wrong than they need, the Lakers will have what it takes to win at least 37-40 games next season.

If this is first hand knowledge... the DLo trade just had to happened

While the young core played well on occasion, consistency was also an issue. This seemed rooted in the rookie season drama that Russell had with Nick Young off the court. It created a wall, if you will, between the then Lakers point guard of the future and where we are today. Teammates began isolating him and it was too easy to feel the friction

Who cares? We are not making the playoffs, not even challenging for a spot. Probably another year of not watching much NBA for me. Thank god my Raiders are starting to kick azz.

Lol I highly doubt that. Raiders have an elite QB. Lakers got NADA. If Ball lives up to the hype maybe. But that's a long shot at best.

Why is that a long shot at best?

33 is certainly a reasonable prediction.

It is tough to win games in the West, I still think they can go for 35+ but I could have homer glasses on in that prediction.

In the East, I think this would be a 47 win team.
