Tiger's only like 1a or 1b greatest golfer of all time and completely changed the sport. Stephen Curry is on the list but not Tiger? Get out..

Only reason to not have Tiger Woods on there would be if you dont consider golfers an actual athlete. Otherwise he should be easy top 5 considering his on the course success and the impact he had on golf and into popular culture. You have people who know Tiger Woods but couldnt name another professional golfer at all.

As far as OJ, if you are not factoring in all his off field legal issues, I see a handful of people on there that I'd say OJ was a better and more impactful athlete over.

And its a joke to see Simone Biles and Gabby Douglas listed so high.

Yeah, Tiger changed the sport. Now all top golfers are actual athletes who have strict weight training, diet and other workout regimens because of what he started. The only reason I can see him not on the list is because he considers himself multicultural instead of strictly black.

Curious why you voted no jodeke?

Tiger should be in the top 10, embarrassing that he's not even in the top 50.

OJ is a bit before my time so hard for me to comment, but Tiger is arguably the greatest golfer of all time, pretty outrageous he isn't on the list.

It's a poor list to be honest, I'd argue that Ali should be #1 personally. How is Kobe not on there either? How is Steph on there? How is he higher than LeBron?

Where is Mike Tyson? How TF did 2 gymnasts make the top 10?

Basically, whoever did this list is a chump

I qualify my NO vote by siting, IMO, Tiger and OJ don't consider themselves Black. For that reason I don't think they deserve to be on the list. Black Athlete being the operative.

Kobe not on the list???

Tiger....uh, what? The only explanation is that he wasn't on the original list of 200 given to those taking the survey.

Kobe, of course should be there. Curry ahead of LeBron? Gabby Douglas and Simone Biles in top 10? Okay!

Barry Bonds?

The public has spoken in this poll....

Since Emmitt Smith and Earl Campbell are on the list then OJ definitely should be there he was the first black corporate shill man while playing in Buffalo of all places.

Tiger should be near the top of the list and Kobe not being on the list and Curry being on it is a joke

Also, Barry Bonds not being on the list is a joke

Woods, yes. I don't know enough about football to know whether OJ fits in. If he does, of course he should be on such a list. Being a detestable murderer doesn't mean he wasn't a good football player. It seems intuitive, but PCism sometimes gets the best of otherwise sound minds.

I don't know how one can make a list which considers societal impact and character and then puts Mike at #1 over Ali. That's stupid. Sugar Ray Robinson and various others weren't paragons of morality either and his write-up includes nothing about his character at all. How's that so if the ranking is partially based on that as a thing? If you're simply counting his skill, he should be top 10. Either do it right or base it on a pure sport aspect.

Why does it matter whether they're black? Seriously, Jodeke. Is there some different standard for black athletes?

NO.

I thought my qualification, why I didn't think they should be on the list, was clear THEY don't consider themselves BLACK so, why include them on a list they don't identify with? Again BLACK being the operative.

IMO they are among the greatest Black Athletes, THEY don't want to be BLACK, I'm merely honoring their wishes by not including them on a ethnic list the don't want to be a part of.

@WindyCityLakerFan I hope this explains/clarifies, my position. We're in agreement about Kobe Deion and Bonds. This list has it's flaws, not including them is one.

My explanation allows I should change my vote to OTHER.....

Tiger definitely deserves to be on there but it seems like this list is based on character and popularity as well as athletic achievement.

David Robinson? He wasn't even the best center of his era!

Steph Curry above Lebron James? smh

Jodeke, this is wrong on so many levels that it makes me dizzy. Do you think people get to choose their race? Or is it that you want to make a list of people who are comfortable with being black? Jeez, man.

This is JMO. I'm not asking you or anyone to agree or reason with it. It's mine and mine alone.

Tiger and O J don't want to be Black. This article is compiled on someones idea of 50 Black athletes. I don't agree with the list, I think O J and Tiger should be on it.

If you read my post you'd see where I'm coming from and not try to push me in a direction of your choice.

Well we know Jack Nicklaus wouldn't be on it and Mary Lou Retton would be above Larry Bird and Tom Brady.
