The whole work out place looks amazing, hopefully this new UCLA training facility is apart of the grand plan to get the FAs to be impressed by how the Lakers take care of there own players.

Slackline with a bar under it looks like an ankle break waiting to happen.

Im holding out hope that his tunnel vision was contextual and that he could revert to some of the playmaking he showed to end his rookie campaign.

I thought the thread title said "breaking the new equipment" not "breaking in the new equipment" and thought this was about Randle's shooting 3s effort, or the team in general for that matter.

Bye.

It is actually bizarre how bad his court vision is.

His defensive awareness could stand a reboot also, he seemingly correctly anticipates nothing at that end.

Great athlete though, but at this point I am thinking a leopard probably doesn't change it's spots.

I think Lakers will treat him like they did with Lou Will. Let him build up his value to the trade deadline and move him by then. He will get his chances to lead the bench this year.

Yeah, for now, JC is a Laker, so i will root for him to succeed. He may or may not be gone, but until then, he's a Laker.

I genuinely wonder if anyone is teaching our players defensive fundamentals and helping them develop their skills on that end.

Everyone talks about how the team needs to improve on D, but do they have anyone showing them the right stance, hand and arm position, how to read and scout opposing players, etc.

Or is the FO and coaching staff just expecting them to figure things out, a la Byron?

But we have some players entering their 3rd/4th+ years. Some of that is just what it is at this point. With young players like Lonzo/Ingram, sure. Technique and knowledge (and reps) may be major help.

I was just thinking the other day I wished we had a skills coach that only focused on screens. Just to put a special emphasis on it. Timing between the players, angles, technique, decision making and reads, etc. That's all this person is focused on.

I think what the team needs is a defensive specialist being added to the coaching staff, adding Payton to work with our guards makes a lot of sense.
