I genuinely wonder if anyone is teaching our players defensive fundamentals and helping them develop their skills on that end.

Everyone talks about how the team needs to improve on D, but do they have anyone showing them the right stance, hand and arm position, how to read and scout opposing players, etc.

Or is the FO and coaching staff just expecting them to figure things out, a la Byron?

I was just thinking the other day I wished we had a skills coach that only focused on screens. Just to put a special emphasis on it. Timing between the players, angles, technique, decision making and reads, etc. That's all this person is focused on.

Madsen? It might be foggy memory but I remember him as a good screener. But I agree, NFL teams have lots of speciality coaches, the Lakers should be able to afford a few.

Too bad there's no workout for court vision.

Be a damn sweet VAR program to take you through previous games and highlight open players, passing angles, missed opportunities. Take it to sharktank and have cuban fund it. Cause it so easy!

Few years back players really played defense. Now its just talking about it. They are saying defense defense , but player are not working really to improve. I never saw one single video of anything where I can see someone working on that end of the floor. They can talk about it as much as they want but its just words.
