Is he officially the starting PG? I can't see Doc letting his son come off the bench.

After what Doc went through with that with CP and Austin, I'd be shocked to see Austin starting.

Beverly is a good defender v. players who pound the rock. Lonzo doesn't. I'm not worried at all.

Rivers will probably start at SG and Beverley be the starting PG with Lou and Teodosic coming of the bench.

He's still a really physical player and will probably make it his mission to go after Lonzo.

My thoughts exactly...

How can he guard 75 foot passes?

Good point! PBev would be better served guarding the runouts by KCP. Lonzo, even in halfcourt, will just pass out of pressure defense.

This matchup will be interesting - Will Blake and DJ have to switch off on BLo and Randle? Because if Lopez can pull DJ out of the paint, then Randle should take Blake to da hole!

BIngram should win this matchup, but Gallinari can get hot. It's going to come down to which SF plays better defense.

Clips best bet would be to start Milos at PG and Beverly at SG to guard KCP. No one on the Clippers roster can guard Pope other than maybe Beverly. KCP should score at will in this game.

Dayum I can't wait for this season to start!!!

KCP is suspended for the first two games of the season.

Real question then - Who do we start at SG in the first 2 games? JC may come off bench to solidify his first guard off the bench role.

We may see how much heart Hart's got....see what I did there? Anyone? Anyone?

I would expect Clarkson to start with Hart potentially taking over his normal role.

Lakers versus Clips. Home stadium for both teams. I wonder who's going to be favored in the opening line in Vegas?

Lakers have the NBA debut of Lonzo Ball, along with a legit center in Lopez. Too bad KCP can't play, dang. Still got Clarkson, Hart, Brewer and Ennis in the guard ranks. Kyle Kuzma is a wild card, he's a rookie but boy can he get out there on the fast break. And hit that 3 ball when he's open. If he gets PT with Randle and Nance out there. Brandon Ingram looked very improved in his brief summer league stint.

The Clippers have experience, I'm guessing they'll get the oddsmakers' nod, but they've got no CP3 to pull it all together. Patrick Beverly is their consolation prize.

One team on the way up. The other on the way down. One team with a huge amount of buzz in the press right now, the other team falling apart. Who you going to go to if you're a marquee free agent?

I think the crowd in the stands is going to be amped and the TV ratings for this opening game are going to be through the roof. And they sure as (bleep) are not tuning in to see Patrick Beverly and Blake Griffin.

Would like to see Josh Hart get the start for the first two games. I wouldn't be surprised if it's Clarkson but I would rather see him be the 6th man always.
