By taking pictures of stars near the Sun during totality, Eddington was able to show that gravity can bend light. This phenomenon is called gravitational deflection.

If you're in the center of the totality shadow in Oregon, which is where I'll be, the total eclipse will last over 2 minutes. People in California will only get to see a partial solar eclipse, which has a window of about 3 hours. The partial solar eclipse is still cool to see, and I encourage people to check it out.

this isn't ideal and is only slightly better than streaming online, but can i just watch the eclipse through my phone's camera? ill have the camera app on and jsut look at my screen...i tried to buy the exlipse glasses all wkend but couldnt find them in stock _________________ Billions Billions Billions
