Can OKC pay PG13 anymore money if he re-signs there? I can't remember.

If they can't pay more, here's a pipe dream that I'd like to see:

LAL sign & trade PG13 to GSW for Klay Thompson.

Obviously this is random as hell and relies on a ton of ifs LOL, but it's the offseason and I'm bored.

This assumes GSW really wants PG13 and Klay prefers LAL over OKC.

Ball
Thompson
Ingram
Randle
Lopez

Would be a great offseason for me. (I prefer Klay for this team than George)

You can't sign and trade free agents of other teams.

And yes, OKC can pay him more and add a 5th year to his contract but he'll likely sign a 2+1 deal to cash in on that 10-year max deal.

Yep, just what I was thinking but some of these guys might change there mind by the time FA starts next summer if they do have LA on there wishlist... If we get WB and LeBron I would say that the NBA should be very scared.

They can also change their minds even if we trade for them. So if they bolt then you gave up a transcendent talent in Ball for nothing. Ouch.

But would Westbrook be upset we didn't try to trade for him as PG was?

Triangle offense is dead imo. It's just too inefficient in the modern NBA game.

Lonzo is going to run, run, run in transition. When it's half court possessions, there will be a lot of passing guys open, cuts, screens, etc. in a nutshell a lot of Ball movement.

The triangle offense would be effective if it's a quick decision making with sharp shooters, but honestly today's NBA is about all 5 guys contributing. Triangle and Iso ball won't get you far imo.

As @PeterVecsey1 stated on podcast: Phil Jackson wanted to deal Kristaps Porzingis for #1 pick to draft Lonzo Ball.

FWIW, it's Peter Vecsey. According to him, Fultz would have gone to the Lakers, Porky to the Celtics, and Lonzo to the Knicks.

Interesting. Maybe Phil learned some things about direction of NBA into fast paced ball movement. RIP #triangleoffense

Huh? Lonzo's like the perfect Triangle PG, and the system has nothing to do with transition pace.

I predicted Phil wanted Lonzo. In terms of basketball it was too much of a fit. He might have had a chance if Boston didn't trade with Philly.

The triangle is not an ISO offense. Each sequence incorporates three players who formed a triangle.

The triangle might be the most successful offense of all-time, at-least it has been since I've been alive.

I'm more of an analytics guy and when I was younger my favorite offense was the SSOL. But while the system matters you can win with any halfway decent system if the team has talent and is built to run it.

The Triangle isn't dead. Warriors still use it and so does Luke. They runs some sets of the Triangle.

I'd give him a camp invite. See what he's got left.

A camp intime sounds right. The talent is probably there, he's
gotten lost in the game. Maybe MWP can refer his to a good shrink,
hopefully he does find his way; in all seriousness.

Because he's proven that he can't play. It happens all the time , ask Darko.

Knicks are trying to trade KP on draft day to Celtics 1st overall pick & looking to select Lonzo Ball.

It seems NYK really serious on trading KP. Can we trade for him w/o sending Lonzo & Ingram?

Give it a year or two. He will be a Laker.

He is just the kind of vet min player that tends to get signed to bolster a James inspired bench. Can even fill in for him when James needs to take off those 10+ games a season to rest.

Can't wait.

No chance. #2/Lonzo for KP was possible but outside that, no way.
