In a way I guess pre-season is already here. I was flying to Las Vegas yesterday and three Lakers were on my flight. They make quite an entrance on to the plane, Larry Nance Jr, Kyle Kuzma and Thomas Bryant. As it happened, Thomas Bryant sat next to me and Kyle Kuzma was directly across from me and Larry Nance Jr was behing Kyle Kuzma. Kyle and Larry were chatting the entire flight and Thomas Bryant was very quiet listening to music. They are going to a camp in Las Vegas and even though there is no coverage these guys are always working and being coached up to be better players. I might add, Thomas Bryant is a giant of a man but the nicest and most polite you would ever meet. Looks can be deceiving but he's a very mild mannered and very soft spoken. Kyle Kuzma is much more vocal and exuberant and Larry Nance Jr just listening and advising.

Are you kidding? I flew to Vegas Friday, and returned to LA yesterday so I just missed them...damn!

I go to Vegas 5-10 times a year. Whenever I go in the summer I almost always cross paths with an NBA player. I saw Metta at the airport back in June I believe. Vegas is like the NBA hub in the summer.

Would've loved to have been on that flight though. I would've been buggin out. Especially with Nance since he's my favorite player on the team. I see celebrities often because of where I work and I generally just go on about my day. But when it comes to seeing a Laker, that's where I become a kid again.

I saw Matt Damon once in Vegas. I asked him where his buddy Ben Afleck was. I was drunk so I may have came across as condescending. He just gave me a dirty look.

I once saw Will Smith in front of a CVS.

It's usually around mid-September. First pre-season game at end of September/early October.

This season it is especially true. Despite the high draft selection after every miserable season, that was the first time since 1996 that we had a rookie playing like someone that could be special in Lonzo Ball and to make things sweeter I don't remember about another player performing like Kuzma since Kobe so I'm twice more excited about our young core than I've been in years.

Ingram one game summer league performance showed a much stronger player than the frail skinny kid from last season and his free throw stroke was looking good, promising for a player that has potential to draw a lot of fouls.

Lopez is also a legit player that we don't have since Pau departure.

First round playoff elimination falling to GS in 6 games will not be a failure

Yes, it is always exciting waiting for that first preseason game, this year as well. Another month or so and we will be there.

I love the first weekend of college football for this reason. It signals things are about crank back up until June.

I'll call it now:
Light's out shooting improvements from Clarkson and Randle, as well as their noticeable improvements with their other hand will make people quickly return to analytics programs which will overheat while "recalculating."

Ingram is going to be even better than what we saw in 1 summer league game, efficiently initiating or absorbing contact at/near the rim and finishing strong. His restructured release will make him a reliable shooter form everywhere. His improved strength will allow him to be a very effective defender at various positions.

Lopez won't always play big minutes, but he'll make Maginka look like geniuses.

KCP will become a key part of a special defensive rotation.

Lonzo is going to lead some fun to watch blowouts.

Kuzma will be in the rotation and cause Julius and Larry to play harder & better than ever.

This will be one of the 2 best, scoring teams in the league...maybe the top by a lot.

2 max talk will be debated about which current guys must be kept.

Nance's improvement will make the team a little better.

Zubac will figure it out and we'll start to see where his game is going.

Hart and Bryant will be forgotten until a key injury or 2. Then they'll become part of a controversial discussion about who should play.

Brewer will sit under the bench.

Deng won't be heard from unless they need their all 6'9" lineup (Ingram, JR, LNJ, Kuzma) to prevent mismatches anywhere. Otherwise, he'll be sitting in the car, waiting to get in the game.

Ennis will be a good shooting, good defensive, somewhat slower paced, solid backup for Lonzo. He'll earn some $ this year.

The team will be extremely fun to watch, the talk of the town, better than the Clippers, REALLY good, and will be in position to say no to f/a's who demand to have the team constructed a certain way. Crow eaters everywhere will have to admit "I didn't see that coming." This team is about to have a great 1 year improvement due to a large variety of factors. Lavar will take all the credit.

This is my favorite roster in a very very long time and that's thanks to the new management team. They showed that even from scraps (KCP, Lopez) they can build a team that FITS. A good fit will get you a ton of wins as fits translates into consistency.

Lonzo ball: I can not wait another second to see him play. I find myself on YouTube 1-2 times a week looking at his games. Something I noticed, even on his pick up games everything looks organized. He is like Billups as a floor controller (including the pull up 3 ) with Rondo's passing ability. I can tell his finishing will be elite. on defense, everyone gets crushed when they are rookies due to the physicality but he will play great team D and play the lanes.

PPG: 17ppg
APG: 8APG
RPG: 6RPG
3PT 37%

kCP: Great signing. With ball as your PG you need a great athlete who can play team basketball, hit the 3, handle the ball if needed, play maker, and play D at an Allstar level. I expect us to resign him along with PG13. Very smart player even in Detroit he looked like he belonged in a team like the Spurs based on his play. Great 2 way beast that was forced to take bad shots in detroit

PPG: 15
APG: 3
RPG: 4
3PT: 40%

Ingram: Breakout. Not statistically but in terms of impact he will dominate games even at his young age. He played PG.. think about that one, he is 6"10. In his summer league game he showed he is a GO-TO player. What makes him special is his ability to read cuts very fast.. this team is full of high BBIQ and he will be a constant target.

PPG: 19
APG: 4
RPG: 7
3PT: 36%
FG: 52%

Randle: How much I like him will depend on how far his jumper can go. I like his physicality but he hAs to watch a lot of tape.

Lopez: I can honestly can see him throwing up 8-10 3PT per game. hear me out:. I have seen Lopez played at least 10-15 times and the guy can shoot it from very very deep. He takes 5 3 pointers with who is his PG again? He won't get low post opportunities as much as this team will play a lot of transition offense but he will be dangerous as a trailer from 3. In the p&r with ball......
