Didn't see one so I thought I'd get one started. I know there's an NFL thread, but, wanted to create a place for people to discuss draft strategy, trades, FA pickups, sit/start, and of course, share your bad beat stories!

Who will be this year's Melvin Gordon or Jordan Howard?

I drafted Jordan Howard last year, but am not sure who will be a sleeper this year. I haven't been too involved, after a big job interview tomorrow I plan on diving in. There are only about 2 weeks until our draft. I was big on Watkins last season but was killed by the injuries, I think he will be a good pickup this year. I like looking at coaching changes and trying to predict how they will influence a team's offense or defense.

After you flunk that interview, look up who his quarterback is. Goff. I've seen plenty of WRs have a low ceiling because of who their QB is.

Don't trust Goff.

I've been drafting Cook and Paul Perkins mostly. Perkins especially if there's PPR.

On the right team, Watkins would be a stud. Rams arent it though.

Give that man a real QB and man, he'd be absurd.

I'm a Rams fan... and I have learned my lesson not to even think about drafting a Rams player on my team. Just too damn unreliable. Even the Defense/ ST is a nightmare.

I think there will be SOME improvement now that Byron--- I mean, Jeff Fisher is gone.. but, I don't have much faith in the O-Line, Goff or even Gurley.

I haven't done much research this year yet... I have a few drafts coming up... but I am looking forward to sharing my triumphs and heartbreaks with you guys again this season.

Playing in a 14 man league this season, we do the draft offline and in person, we use the conference center at my office after work and do it on the projector. Nerdy, but a lot of fun, get pizza and snacks and spend the entire time cussing each other out laughing when there's bad picks.

We do a draft lottery before the season starts, landed the 6th overall pick so Zeke's suspension has hurt my first round picks, if you consider David Johnson, Le'Veon Bell, Antonio Brown, Julio Jones & Odell Beckham as the now clear cut top 5, there's a drop off to who is next. Hoping to get one of those guys, but if not, who should I go with next?

Either McCoy or Mike Evans, if none of those fall to you.

I'd rather have McCoy than Beckham personally.

Why? Regardless, in no draft will ODell fall below 5.

He'll be their bellcow and with Watkins and Woods gone, I expect them to run even more.

Beckham is awesome, but has competition now in marshall and Shephard. Plus, the depth at receiver is real. Not many backs that'll get you the volume that McCoy gets.

We're splitting hairs here of course, but at #4, i'm taking McCoy if Bell/DJ/Brown are gone.

McCoy is 29..you guys think he'll be able to keep it up and stay healthy enough to warrant a top 7 pick?

Agree. I was excited to get Beckham last year but the return of Cruz had a negative impact on his numbers.

First draft of the new season tomorrow. Just received word I have the 11th pick, 12 teams total.

Argh. That means multiple options to chose from. Mocks have anyone from AJ Green to Jordan Howard, Devonta, jordy, ajayi, demarco, all available.

Im avoiding Ajayi. Who would you guys like with those options at 11?

I'm thinking Jordan Howard and Michael Thomas on the way back.

I'd go Freedman over Howard, then take either Jordy or AJ or Thomas. But if Howard is there, after taking Devonta, go RB, RB. You can still grab a bunch of good WR in rounds 3-5.

Alright, here's my draft. 11th pick, 12 teams, standard scoring. Did not expect Melvin Gordon to fall to me but he did.

Pretty happy with my draft -- loads of upside on the bench to audition for a flex spot. Round selected in parantheses. Thoughts?

QB: Big Ben (10)
RB: Melvin Gordon (1)
RB: Bilal Powell (5)
WR: Michael Thomas (2)
WR: Demaryius Thomas (4)
TE: Travis Kelce (3)
FLEX: Jarvis Landry (6)
K: Cairo Santos (14)
DST: Los Angeles Rams (13)

BN: Paul Perkins (7)
BN: Pierre Garcon (8)
BN: Kareem Hunt (9)
BN: Jamaal Williams (11)
BN: Robby Anderson (12)

Well, I had the 11th so D Thomas was taken with the 2nd pick of the 4th round.

Zeke went early IMO. First pick of the 3rd round. Guy didnt wanna do it, but he knew he wouldn't get him with the last pick of the 4th. The dude has David Johnson witj the first pick. Can only hope this guy starts out like 1-5 or 0-6.

Davin Cook?

1+

I doubt it. Mainly, because I don't see MIN being good enough offensively to get Cook those kind of numbers. Plus, I believe they have the leagues worst offensive line.

I think some other candidates are:

Kareem Hunt
Jamaal Williams
Ameer Abdullah

Oh crap. Who drafted Odell Beckham Jr? Hopefully he is ok but I read he fell to the ground walking back to the locker room.

Had my only LIVE draft of the season yesterday. 10 man league, PPR. I picked 6th. League is made up of 2 good friends of mine and their buddies... Some guys in the league are notorious for a few bonehead/questionable picks. I won't divulge my entire roster yet (LG draft coming up soon) but here is the breakdown on the first 2 rounds. (I think I got pretty lucky)

1. L. Bell - Doug Baldwin
2. D. Johnson - T. Gurley
3. L. McCoy - Michael Thomas
4. Julio Jones - T. Brady
5. Aaron Rodgers - Dez Bryant
6. Antonio Brown - Melvin Gordon
7. O. Beckham - Mike Evans
8. J. Ajayi - D. Freeman
9. Jordy Nelson - AJ Green
10. Marshawn Lynch - Matt Ryan

So, 3 QBs taken in the first 2 rounds. Rodgers, Ajayi and Marshawn taken in the first. Brown fell to me at #6 and I was able to grab Gordon (who I thought might go in the 1st round)

The guy that has Lynch and Ryan also picked Edelman in the 5th round! He was drunk and we kept saying to everyone NOT to pick him up (injured players stay on the board) but he did it anyway. LOL

Cameron Meredith goes down with gruesome knee injury. Has got to be torn ACL by the look of it. Guy saved my WR crews last year and was set for a breakout season this year. Ouch.

I like Kareem Hunt a lot with Ware likely out for the year. Got Hunt in the 8th round of a draft today. Big steal imo
