With the slew of mid west guys who played at UK that is currently in the NBA. Do you guys think it's a good idea for the NBA to possibly market and test Kentucky for an NBA team

2 teams come to mind for relocation.
The clippers
Sacramento Kings.

If the Kings relocate. To Kentucky they can call themselves the Kentucky kings or at best Kentucky Royals.

The Clippers aren't relocating. And no, too close to Memphis and NO.

I could see Kentucky being a site for an expansion team, though it's not a perfect location. I can't imagine a team relocating from a larger market to Kentucky.

There are too many teams in the NBA as it is. It's watered down, and they need to get rid of a few.

I wish the clippers do relocate. There is no need for them in Los Angeles.

I still consider Pittsburgh to the best market for the NBA to relocate to. Pittsburgh fans love their sports teams...

It will never be as successful as the Kentucky Wildcats team. They basically have a stranglehold on the basketball market there.

It will never happen. To get rid of a team, the league would have to buy it first, which means all the owners would have to Pony up at least 30 or 40 million apiece.

There has been occasional talk about putting a franchise in Louisville. I doubt that it would do well. Other than Seattle and maybe St. Louis or Las Vegas, there aren't any good expansion candidates, or else the NBA would already have expanded. The league dreams of an expansion team in Europe, but I don't see that happening.

It wouldn't be an expansion. It would have to be a team relocation. Especially the 2 in California that one one cares about. Clippers and kings

You can forget about the Kings moving since they just built a new arena.
If the Clippers get their new arena as well they won't be moving anytime soon either.

I doubt that a second Kentucky area team would do any better as a draw for pro hoops than the same concept franchise would fare if it located to a larger metro area, such as Austin or Jacksonville. Why there ?

The forum is suing ballmer for the proposal of the inglewood stadium. Expect that project to be in development hell for some time

Eh, the league is overdue for expansion. It's been 21 years. The Clippers and Kings are not moving.

Clippers.. Seattle would make the most sense. Other than that maybe San Diego.

Kentucky? Nah.

I don't think the league should put teams in markets where the amateur team will draw more local interest.

Seattle should definitely be the #1 choice and deserves a NBA team.

I don't see expansion, but I could see a team moving there at some point.

They won't, they are looking at building their own state of the art arena in the LA area. They know where the money is.

If San Diego can't even keep a team they supported for 56 years, theres no way they are getting another NBA franchise after 2 moved away. The problem for San Diego is getting tax payer money to fund a sports arena/stadium. They aren't willing to do it and the most recent example was Petco Park back in the early 2000's.
