If Bynum had developed like we had expected him to, he would currently be our franchise player and still only twenty-nine years old.
On the other hand, Russell was the highest lottery pick that we'd had in a long time. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

I highly doubt both would have lead us to titles, at most with Bynum we probably could have made a couple of WCF appearances if he developed into a complete player, Russell would have made us into a playoff team...
I'm completely satisfied with our current young core, Ball and Ingram have a chance to do something very special.

Bynum had injury issues and Russell has only played 2 seasons. He has a whole career ahead of him. Neither are really huge disappointments. In Russell's case sometimes a new setting is best for both sides.
Bynum was an all star and helped us win b2b titles. Even in 08, his play in the early part of the season is what made the lakers so good and appeased Kobe and convinced Kobe to rescind his trade request. Even tho Bynum went down that year, his play is what catapulted the lakers to the top of the west and allowed Mitch to be aggressive and acquire gasol. And we eventually got Dwight for Bynum, which at that time was considered a great trade.
I've always clowned on Dlo, but he will be an all star one day. He was put in a tough situation with Byron and kobe's exit tour _________________ Billions Billions Billions
It's not close to the worse draft class ever, but it's probably in the bottom ten. Some of the names make me chuckle. Von Wafer. When was the last time you heard that name? Ike Diogu. I can remember someone claiming that he was the next big thing. Fran Vazquez. He never did sign a contract.

What if neither disappointed? That is my vote.
Same here. Pretty negative poll. One guy got his career derailed by knee injuries but we still walked away with 2 titles during his career. The other's still early in his career and can light teams up on the right night, just not consistently yet.
We're talking Laker disappointments, irrelevant to the upcoming season?

No one did in 2005. It was little nuggets of potential that led to an eventual breakout season. That mini breakout game late against Eddy Curry. The Shaq forearm shiver retaliation game. Those types of things when you get to watch a young player grow up before your eyes. There was much chatter of him being better than Dwight Howard even.
It's the disappointment from that. Not his draft position. That's kind of irrelevant really.
