Dude, glad you're okay. The pictures of the freeways flooding is bananas.

This is the video that I found most striking. It may not be as deep, but the speed and power of the water shows exactly how dangerous this kind of flooding can be.

Harvey made land in Louisiana. It came ashore in Cameron, I hope it bypasses New Orleans. It's about 400 miles away.

I'll believe it when he actually hands over the check, and even then only when it clears.

Even if true, hardly offsets the damage his deregulation has done, and $1mil is a drop the bucket to the $1BIL he wants to defund from disaster relief.

Houston is getting back to normal, but some of the news stories are interesting. This is about HEB, which is a large (and aggressive) grocery store chain in the southern part of Texas. Part of their schtick is being right in the middle of whatever is going on in the community. A natural disaster is right in their wheelhouse. This is an account of what they did during the hurricane.

As an aside, I never realized that this guy was really an HEB employee. I thought he was just a geeky guy who made funny commercials with people like JJ Watt, Craig Biggio, and Dikembe Mutombo.

Just remember to have fun. In the meantime the EPA will eventually go check out the flooded megafund dump sites. Maybe. They totally looked fine from the satellite pics though so no worries. Worst case scenario is the water just washes it all away.
