Time to cut that fema budget a bit more. They definitely don't need the money. A two front battle with hurricanes should be easy with their crack leadership.

Having two big hits on major population areas back to back would be brutal. The blob in the southern gulf has some people here worried. As you can see, one of the tracks would take it right to the spot that Harvey just hit. The blob isn't supposed to turn into much of anything, but you never know.

I noticed that "blob"....looks like they are forecasting there is about a 50% chance it turns into a tropical system....I think we all hope it avoids bringing more rain into the Harvey impacted areas.....also hoping Irma veers off into the Atlantic.

It's cheap to live in the South, but damn you gotta deal with a lot of nasty weather... and mosquitoes. Damn, I hate mosquitoes.

Its a large part of why I haven't visited India in nearly 20 years. Mosquitoes love me and I get these giant sized mosquito bites I try not to itch

Up to Category 5 now. It looks to me like the models are shifting from the Carolinas to Florida.

If the eye goes over the Keys as a Category 4 as some models forecast, I would think that would be devastating to those islands....Key West is near sea level and mostly older wooden structures....Donna (1960) was a Cat 4 that went just North of the Keys, but still left some Keys completely destroyed.

Jose joins the party, and some of the Spaghetti Models show it following the path of Irma.

Now Americans will really pay attention. Destroy our houses is one thing, but cancelling a football game??!??!

Irma, then Jose, now Katia

When will the religious right stop blaming Obama and gays for the hurricanes and realize it is god punishing them for Trump and Republicans?

A friend of mine says that he had his honeymoon on a small island that is being hit by Irma. The highest point above sea level is 32 feet. The storm surge is 40 feet. There are about 1700 people on the island. Oh, man.

Stupid thing to say considering these hurricanes are punishing mostly Hispanic regions in the area as well. Natural disasters don't draw their lines at political affiliations.

Irma is set to go right down the east coast of Florida and on to the Carolinas. This could be awful.

Quote:
It skirted Puerto Rico Wednesday night, and left more than 1 million people without power.

Well, that ain't bad compared to this:

Quote:
Irma battered the tiny island of Barbuda and the island territories of St. Bart and St. Martin, where local officials said about 95 percent of the island was completely demolished after Wednesday's thrashing

Wow.
