Frank Vincent, Mob Boss Phil Leotardo on 'The Sopranos,' Dies at 78

One of my favorite Film Mobsters. And had a great scene with Pesci in Goodfellas.

RIP

Greatest movie of all-time for my money!

Loved his work in Raging Bull as well. Among many others.

Ridiculous resume.

RIP.

Damn. He played a villain you loved to hate, and like many such actors, was reportedly just an absolute peach off camera.

Yep. From my experience working with actors, the ones who are great at playing the interesting priçk on camera are the nicest people you'd hope to meet off camera.

Vito outlived 3 colleagues(!) The third was the FBI chief. Frank Pelligrino. Vito even outlived his homeboy Johnny Cakes. Pelligrino died in Jan of duh lung cancer. Always chuckled at "duh/tha" preceding any medical condition. Tony once mentioned that a fellow goomba "got da Hodgkin's". I just re-watched 2:11 where Tony took a fall. That's essentially like watching the poor guy's actual death. Falling out to the side while gasping for air.

RIP Frank/Billy/Phil. No one disliked that guy. I loved him. His early 80s work were just bits many times. He's got a 1 sec cameo in Easy Money and 2 scenes and one line in Pope Of Greenwich Village. He cut Eric Robert's thumb off. Peep that if you haven't, Huey. I'm positive that movie was referenced a few times in the show. Burt Young having an episode was a nod imo, he was the boss in Pope. Anyway, damn. Frank was a gent and he wrote a book about how to behave as such.

Always liked this Frank scene because it was outside of his normal range. Poignant because of the two involved, obv. I liked little menacing Butch scene at the end blocking Tony. T looks perturbed.

Good ending, unusual outtro woven into final scene, I liked when they would do that occasionally.

This could be a chapter title in my autobiography.
