By the way, magic didn't pay the fine as rules say team must pay. |

He can have the team deduct it from his salary, is that legal? |

Did the Lakers ever say which scouts will be compartmentalized into which specific concentrations, i.e. who will be concentrating on just international, who will be for college, the free agents, developmental, etc.? |

Did the Lakers ever hire a director of player development and make other front office hires? They were reported to be conducting interviews for positions over a month ago. |

There has been no announcement as to who's filling Yuju Lee's spot, right? This is a huge gripe I have with the current front office. Shouldn't this position be filled soon, if not already?
Did someone else take his spot and it just hasn't been announced yet? |

Did we use Lee's analytics when signing Moz and Deng? Just getting rid of him might have been the necessary move. Hopefully we get some math geek soon. |

Hey, not saying that Yuju Lee was killing it or anything. Just saying that the Lakers need a head of math geeks before the season starts. |

I'd like that too.
By the way, are all math geeks conceited?

I doubt it, Mitch was a bit (ok, a lot) old school on picking guys. The analytics were more in play for the coaches. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel |

He did a pretty dang good job drafting without analytics.
That in itself is impressive. |

They promoted Jordan Wilkes to director of player development and added a couple of strenght/nutrition assitants. Underwhelming IMO. |

You get better by going backwards. This country would be great if we could elect Nixon as president.

Unless there's legitimate reasons that we know of as to why Wilkes can't do the job or would be an utter failure, I don't see what there is to criticize about this. Who cares if he's Jamaal's son if he can do the job? _________________ “Christ did not die to forgive sinners who go on treasuring anything above seeing and savoring God. Cuz people need something to complain about. Even if nobody here has ever heard of some of these guys, let alone know how capable they are at their jobs. |

All seem to have good credentials and should smoothly transition into their roles. Good work by the FO again. |

The Lakers almost exclusively pulling from a microscopic talent pool of former Lakers and sons of former Lakers is a legitimate gripe. Our Director of Player Development should be the best in the business. Jordan Wilkes began his career in this field 3 years ago. Here's his resume:

Tell me with a straight face this is the best candidate out there. He may very well be a capable guy, but he very clearly got this opportunity because of his last name and the team has an established pattern of valuing Laker history and bloodline over qualifications. _________________ 14-5-3-12 |

The background for his new position is much weaker than I had expected.
I have no idea why they continue to be so insular with the composition of their operations staff.
I need to find an updated staff directory for a complete analysis, but they do have quite a few that have never worked for another NBA organization:
* Buss family
* Magic
* Pelinka
* Wilkes
More upheaval in Lakers' front office with Glenn Carraro's departure
