If he develops a 3pt shot, he can be similar to Speights
From what was being reported during draft time, they picked him cause he's a stretch 5 and has good 3pt shooting for a 6"11 big guy. But he doesn't need to show consistency for sure.

I wonder which one we keep by 2020: TB or IZ
Bryant has a team option in 2018 for $1.4m. I kind of doubt, even if they want to keep him, he'll be on the team next season given how tight the cap is going to be.
Thomas Bryant Has Energy to Spare Ahead of Rookie Season

Thomas Bryant is a big man who wears an even bigger smile. He loves the “Rush Hour” movies (particularly 2 and 3 over the original) and his Green Bay Packers.
Above all that, he loves playing basketball — as obviously seen during the Lakers’ run to the Summer League title in July.
Bryant was a spring of energy every time he stepped on the court in Las Vegas, setting screens, running the floor and protecting the rim.

He certainly can hit the 3. Did it in college.
He will probably spend time in the G-League honing his skills and gaining experience but in the long run I feel that this young man will have a nice NBA career.

Not really. Speights is terrible on D and he is soft and pudgy. Big Mamba has a huge wingspan and some hops. He is already a much better rim protector Speights has ever been- and a much worse shooter.
Honestly I can't think of two players who are more dissimilar aside from both hitting some 3's. Come on Duce, step up your game. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss

Yeah if we are able to pull of the two star plan I would say neither are on the team after the summer of 2018.
I like a lot what I saw from him these 2 games. Kid is still a project, a long way to go and he will see a lot of G-League time this year. But he sure showed potential out there. _________________ ....

He made some really nice passes tonight. 2 assists to Kuz. One cross-court with his back to the basket, wow
I love his energy on defense. He actively challenges shots and closes out on defenders. It's what I loved about our last TB (Tarik Black) but this TB has some tools to give us something on the offensive end as well. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant

The more I see Bryant play, the more I like him. He hasn't even shown his 3 point shooting ability yet, which was the one thing I knew he was good at when we drafted him. Very good passing, held his own on interior defense and great hustle. Good game last night.
*Don't sleep on this young man. He may spend time in the G-League but he definitely has NBA potential, high BBIQ and an NBA body.
His energy and enthusiasm are infectious!
4 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists vs Nuggets in fifteen minutes
3 points 1 rebound, 1 assist in six minutes vs Minny
