Pistons fans suggest that 1 game he scores 6 points and the next game he scores 25, if that's the case I will gladly take it as long as the D is consistent.

He changed his shot to a set-shot.... and I'm not confident that once again, it's just a successful shoot-around shot

last years: https://3ball.io/plays/caldwell?playId=0021600818_516
you can rewatch the game to see his this year

EDIT: nevermind. only one full set-shot. He has been shooting a set-shot in practice though, I think he's caught in between. More lift on his shot last year

The shot selection complaint is real. Also, dude can't buy a 3, though he's hardly alone in that regard.

I like what he's bringing on the defensive end.

I'm not in the slightest worried about KCP, he's gonna contribute, on most nights, what's worrying is the fact that Ingram and Ball might not end up making a difference.

Good game for KCP. Keep it up. I cannot wait to see some veterans playing together. I would like to see some KCP, Brewer, Lopez lineups. I am starting to lose patient watching young guys making stupid mistakes all the time.

Ennis,KCP,Brewer,Kuzma,Lopez. I hope Luke will try this lineup in next few games.

Is it me or does kcp not seem like the sharpest tool in the shed?

I don't think he's starter material and definitely not worth the 18 mil. Good for one year and move on. However players sometimes are hard to critique if they play with bad players.

I think he's as good of a 1 year rental as we could get. He's not exactly winning me over as someone we need to re-sign to a 4 year, 20m/year deal.

He seems to gamble too much for my taste on defense. Always going for a steal doesn't make you a good defender. Maybe he thinks the object of defense is to win the ball back rather than keeping the other team from scoring?

Yeah, the money's not going to be there for him next summer. He's a fine stopgap, and for the right price he'd be worth bringing back assuming the two max plan falls through.

IMO it is waaaaaaaaay to early to come to any conclusions regarding potentially re-signing him.

I agree, no reason for the vets on the team to go full boar during the pre season, KCP will play at a high level, he’s already shown good things the last 2 games and I expect his 3pt shot to come around.

What concerns me the most is his shot selection. Taking a lot of bad shots out there.

That seems to be a huge problem with this team, add his bad shot selection o that of Randle's and Clarkson's and you have a mess. You think every time one of these guys take a bad shot the other team just runs and scores at will. That's why they say bad offense leads to bad defense. While the player is on the floor recovering from his bad shot selection the other team is running towards your rim.

I was skeptical about this guys savior status that some (not all) gave to Pope. To me he is what he always was, just a guy. He certainly hasn't looked good yet.

Since this rental isn't costing me 20mil, I'll agree. However, if I were a Buss family member, I would rather it not come from my 10%.

Kind of forced to. The only other guy capable of any kind of iso scoring in the starting lineup is Randle.

Lonzo isn't there yet, and BI is trying to force it way too much when it isn't his game, and Bryant or Zubac aren't either and especially not Nance.

So at least till Lopez gets back, it is what it is.

Hopefully Lonzo can get this guy some easy looks. Thus far he looks like a shorter/better defensive version of Wes Johnson.

I'll admit it, it's early, but I haven't seen one thing that makes me say, "oh I get it, that's what's special about him". KCP seems like just another guy. I'd rather see Clarkson or BI get his minutes.
