His jumper looks a bit more mechanically sound in the training camp vids. Hope he has a great year. |

One of my biggest hopes for Larry is that he's a lot more aggressive this year with his shot and he communicates better on PnR defense. |

The guy is very frustrating, I can't say he had a bad game, but I don't know, it's like you know he can give you a loooot more, but he doesn't... |

Shot poorly?
Team hasn't practiced much offense yet.
Not time to worry about Larry just yet. |

I thought he flew around too much on defense, they were often scrambling to cover open guys. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

The problem with Nance is that he's passive on offense end to the point where it's a liability. |

He's not a natural shooter. It's the same with Randle. They can practice, and try to trick themselves into believing they're threats, but when their shots come you can see the uncertainty and hesitation. Anyway, I think it's an acceptable flaw if you play him at the 5. |

Randle has his own issues, but definitely more aggressive than Nance. |

When it comes to open jumpers, not by much. It's just disguised better because he can counter by putting it on the floor and barreling into the paint, or running a kickback. |

I know its one preseason game but Nance can't afford to not be showing up as a starter. Missing wide open layups is not going to cut it either. It's time for Larry to step up and lead by example _________________ My Dream Starting 5 next Season

While he is in better shape, I'm not sure he's that much physically stronger. If anything, he looked to be out muscled last night by Gibson, Dieng and Towns. It's unfortunate because I think his way to earn minutes required some ability to play the C spot. If he keeps playing like that, and Zubac maintains his play from last night, he'll be competing with Kuzma for backup minutes at the PF spot. It really limits his opportunity for minutes if he can't play the C. _________________ LakersGround's Terms of Service

Kinda sad the 230 pound Nance has to play center but yea he's a liability on offense sometimes. |

^Not the whole game. Nance played center too without Randle on the floor. But, still, even with Randle, Nance didn't match up well with Gibson either. _________________ LakersGround's Terms of Service

Nance is getting outplayed by the other forwards. Even Deng is showing signs of life and there likely won't be any minutes for him at C. |

Nance doesn't look himself. He's definitely not able to match up vs centers, but also didn't look himself vs forwards. Not sure what's up. feel like he has some type of nagging injury he's trying not to tell anyone about but could be his ceiling is 7th or 8th man. |

2 preseason games < 2 years of NBA experience
Feel pretty confident about Larry just shaking off the rust and learning a new system and teammates |

Nance is at best a solid backup big off the bench, he can succeed in that role. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Whenever Nance has a stretch of bad games, I can't help but wonder if it's a Crohn's flare up before his Remicade infusion... |
