am I the only one that would not mind them not playing for a few more days or even a week....get some more practice in. I mean if they have not even put any work in on half court offense, I am not sure what the benefit of playing games really is for the team.

Big test for the Cs to defend Jokic on the perimeter. Need to pressure the lead playmaker.

I'd prefer this also. I'd rather the team practice their plays than get smoked by a playoff team tomorrow

Admittedly, any veteran team that has any kind of a team chemistry already has a head start on this Laker squad.

Just don't let Shabazz Muhammad and Dieng score 36 points and we'll be ok.

I'm more invested in this game.
We hear the same every year... These game don't matter. I refuse to believe that coming from a rebuilding team who has hype around them.

I'm not talking wins. I'm talking improvement from one game to the next. Show me growth. Show me evolution from both coaching and playing.

Why the NBA doesn't start TC two weeks earlier than they do is beyond me.

3 days of practice before the first preseason game is crazy

I'd really like to see Luke change up the rotation that he started the game with last night. As long as Lopez and Bogut aren't playing, Zubac should start at center.

I'd like to see Luke come out the gate with these lineups tbh.

Starters:
Lonzo Ball
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
Brandon Ingram
Julius Randle
Ivica Zubac

Bench:
Tyler Ennis
Jordan Clarkson
Corey Brewer
Kyle Kuzma
Larry Nance Jr.

I'd say that's a good starting and bench lineup to go with against the Nuggets, and we got enough room to work with.

No one on our team shot more than 2 free throws!! That's just crazy. I think the "jumpshot" mentality is terrible. While it's good to have a good jumpshot, but Luke should teach everyone to be AGGRESSIVE. Jumpshots when you miss, that's it. But when you drive to the hoop and miss, at least there's a good chance you get a foul call. That's why it's always much better to drive to the hoop if given the opportunity.

To win games CONSISTENTLY, you need to do things that can be done consistently: defense and rebound can be done night in and night out with effort and good scheme. Scoring via shooting free throws can also be done consistently if you know how to draw fouls. JUMPSHOTS are NOT consistent. Someday you could go 8/10 and then go 1/10 the next day.

PLEASE, BE MORE AGGRESSIVE!!! Take it to the rim and throw it down!!

Cmon game experience, game speed, game shape. No more playing with themselves!

Wait... that came out wrong. Oh well...

Go Lakers!

Well they said they practice defense, so at least we should see improvement on this side of the court...

I think throwing them into the fire is a good strategy in this case. They do get to work on man defense, team defense and rotations, boxing out, rebounding, shooting with a defender closing in (I have NO idea why players who work on their 3 all summer don't do so with someone closing out with a hand up,) clock awareness, fighting through screens, it's a chance for coaches to see who's in game shape, and the FO gets a chance to see who can stay cool under game pressure against NBA competition.

IIRC Zubac has played well against the Nuggets in the past; and their coach (Malone) has said a lot of positive things about him too
