Kuzma is the real deal !!!

I wouldn’t be surprised if Randle is shipped around a Trade deadline, while were at it, send JC out as well.

Both are still an issue when it comes to “team” ball.

He has equaled Nance in rebounding at 1, but 9 behind Randle

Not if Ingram keeps playing like he has and Kuzma keeps playing like he has.

Randle or KCP would be benched before Ingram....it is about so much more than a few games performance.....Magic and Pelinka have been more than clear that the future is about Lonzo and Ingram. Both are on team controlled value contracts for several more years.

Look at last year....Ingram pretty much sucked for most of the year....and was often the worst player on the court....but night in and night out, he played the most minutes....because the FO is committed to him. Going to see similar things for Ball this year.....I do not think he will be a very good basketball player this season, but he is going to play heavy minutes no matter if they are earned or not.....the FO is committed to him.

If they truly buy into Kuzma at some point, they will choose him over Randle, Nance, KCP, etc....because he will be on a cheap team controlled contract.....and this regime drafted him.

Man, you have a weird hard-on for Larry.

Has he done something positive this game? Has he shown anything to make you think he should get playing time over Kuzma?

1) he's actually performed competently in regular season games

2) they're both Lakers and can split time while also playing together

The willingness of posters tonight to throw two years of evidence supporting good play because of two crappy preseason games

good sub Luke

Yea what was the logic there?

Team comes back with a certain unit, 43 secs left. He subs out one guy for a guy who has never played ever, for one play on offense. Then on the ensuing play, takes him out and brings the original guy back in.

especially when that guys sucks on offense

Probably a situational matchup for one play, and a chance to get a guy on the floor that may possibly never see time again in a Laker jersey. It is preseason.

For one play? With 43 secs left?

the 1st spot Kuzma is taking is Randle's spot. sure he gets 10/10 but so does T Brooker

And that's based on no evidence of the contrary.

Two straight games, Randle and Kuzma have been the Lakers best players.

Ingram aside from a good first quarter in the first pre-season game has been a dud thus far.

He is getting criticism and deserves it.

Not out of hatred, but from what's actually happening.

Ingram needs to stop trying to play like something he's not.

We've got a logjam at the four. And I've prefaced most of my posts saying that Larry needs to show something to keep his spot, which is saying that he hasn't lost it yet, but he's at risk of doing so if things continue to look the way they have. If Kuz falls apart or Larry suddenly beasts, of course he should keep his job. But so far it isn't looking very good for him. He got a lot of hype from the dunks on West and of course Lopez, but if he wasn't getting spoon fed dunks he wasn't doing much else. And for all the talk from him of working on his shot, he hasn't shown it.

Again, he hasn't lost his spot yet, and he should get every chance to show he deserves to keep it, but it isn't looking good for him. That's all I was saying. I like Larry. I just don't think he's shown himself to be much more than a spot energy role player.

Lonzo's fine. I expect he'll practice tomorrow, but be out the Lakers next pre-season game, and that's when Lopez or Bogut will actually play X_X

Ingram on the other hand got rattled pretty bad by Beasley and I think that's why he was sat down a few mins later despite playing well and was kept out the rest of the game. Hope it's nothing serious.

I doubt this happens anytime soon, but I'm curious about Luke and how he'll handle this if kuzma continues to show out.

Will Luke have the cojones to start kuzma over Ingram? Would magic have to clear it?

Lots of ifs, but just curious to see how it plays

So far this is a repeat of last season. Ingram is the new DLO (2nd year, expectations) and Randle/Clarkson are basically at the end of the rope. Call it unfair timelines, lack of development or whatever but some guys need to look in the mirror and find a way to help themselves. Nance and Zubac need to find ways to contribute even if it’s not scoring.

Clarkson/Randle/Nance are in that 3-5 year vet range where you either show or you are let go. This is that year for them.

If I can package nance/clarkson for an expiring and late first round pick i'd do it in a heartbeat.

if Ingram continues to play this way and Kuzma continues to play his way, then Luke should be well within his right to sit Ingram and play Kuzma at the starting 3.

If Magic tries to intervene in that, then he cares more about his ego than that the best player plays because the kid he christened as "his team" and "the next 20 ppg scorer" isn't ready yet.

And playing a nobody who hasnt played at all. Luke is weird.

Yeah, you'd think this was a preseason game, where the coaches are more interested in looking at what the new players can do than they are in winning.

Getting Lopez and Bogut will help but Bryant > Zubac. Also, its obvious Kuzma > Ingram, Randle, Nance. My prediction Kuzma starts at SF, Ingram comes off the bench. Clarkson still the same, not saying too much.
