The ad campaign was supposed to give Knicks fans a choice: are they “hopeful” or “hopeless?”
But damn, it came off as cold.

The campaign was part of a larger campaign (the Yankees were involved, top, and while there were “hopeful” sides as well, which one do you think Knicks fans started posting all over social media? Exactly. The same one we would have.
FS1 does not have the Knicks’ broadcast rights (that belongs to MSG Network), and not surprisingly owner James Dolan and the Knicks were not amused. According to Darren Rovell of ESPN, the ads will be removed.

The Knicks are not going to be good this year, but they are far from hopeless. That ad campaign is harsh. |

What?
I wonder if that sentence is trying to say that Fox sports paid for the removal of those ads. _________________ #IStillBelieveTaurean |

Apparently Dolan called Murdoch about this and complained so yeah they removed them. |

Too late. It's already gone viral.
Does Fox Sports own any broadcast rights to Knicks games? I'm looking at the Knicks' schedule and every game that's not broadcast by ESPN or TNT shows MSG as the channel. Maybe this was a devious marketing campaign to drive viewers away from MSG during basketball season. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

Hilarious and fitting.
Although IMO the Knicks are finally on the right path with draft picks and young players. They have after the Melo trade I believe quite a few young core players to use as assets for trade or building blocks - Porzingis, Ntilikina, Hardaway, Kanter, Hernangomez and all their draft picks. It's actually a good time for them, IMO. |
