I hope Hart gets a fair shot at getting the backup SG spot. I know JC is there now, but he can play some "PG" and also may be a trade candidate this year if Hart shows out. But he's a rookie so who knows. Hoping he can have a Brogdon-like impact in year 1.

Would be impressive if Hart could have that impact. Brogdan played about 25 mpg.

If Hart can earn those mins I would love it.

Primary rotations of Ball/Clarkson at PG and Pope/ Hart at SG would be intriguing as hell to me.

Hart IMO is an "old soul." My hope is that he can play like a 2-3 year experienced player. I just hope he doesn't try to do too much, b/c I'm not certain he's a big time scorer in the NBA. I think he could be a 3/D guy though.

I could deff see Hart beating out Ennis and JC moving to backup PG with Hart as backup SG.

I think we see major minutes for Zo / KCP / JC covering the 2 spots though

Hart reminds me a lot of Arron Afflalo when he came out of UCLA - team leader, smart player, solid outside shooter, go-to defender, good but not freakish athleticism, hard worker. We could really benefit from having Hart as both Clarkson insurance and a long-term, reasonably-priced yet still productive rotation guy.

I'd already slot Hart in over JC on the depth chart due to the fact that Hart will actually be willing to play defense.

I hope we can find a way to move JC's contract this year

I'm worried that the only way we can move JC's contract is to attach Randle to it. I figure if Randle can give us 16 and 9 with improved D before the ASB, then he can be a factor in next summer's plans. At least a 16 and 9 young workhorse can net us a mid-level 1st round pick back, but I'd hate to dump a potential athletic freak like Randle just to dump Clarkson.

OK, for Deng it might be necessary because Deng's contract is significantly higher, but still...

While I don't necessarily dislike Ennis, I definitely don't think he's good enough to be penciled in as a lock in the rotation over Hart, despite Hart being a rookie. Reason being, what Hart potentially brings to the table has exponentially more value than anything Ennis brings. I wouldn't be shocked if Hart proves himself to be a competent role player and earns minutes because of his effort and defensive activity. His potential on defense alone gives him the edge over Ennis in my personal depth chart.

You won’t get much value for a player who can sign an offer sheet after the season. Teams won’t want to risk overpaying or him walking. Adding a player on a rookie deal with JC makes more sense.

Good stuff from Hart tonight. Looking like an upgrade over Clarkson already.

Really like Hart’s game. He has a clean well rounded game. Doesn’t make too many mistakes, can finish, can shoot and play defense. A solid rotation player for any team.

Hart can play both ends - There is zero reason to play JC ahead of him IMO.

Clarkson looks like a d-leaguer. Hart has good fundamentals and has a better shot.

If he keeps it up, Clarkson is a goner, Clarkson was a solid pick but his time here is ovvaaa, dude doesn't look like he's had much Improvement and does the same things that we saw the last 3 years.

Hart played against the bottom of Denver's lineup, so it's hard to compare.

That said - Josh did something very unusual for anyone in a Laker uniform these days not named Kyle Kuzma - he hit his open shots. Also - I thought he played solid defense, consistent with his reputation from Villanova's title team.

I really hope Hart does get more playing time, and that he manages to knock our crappy defender '6th man of the year' down a notch in the guard pecking order. If he plays to his potential we could use another smart defender who nails shots within the offense if he's open.

Lonzo, KCP, BI, Randle, Lopez prolly got the starting lineup on lock to start the season. But Hart could sneak in there for the first couple of games KCP is out.

He said he thinks he can make a similar impact to Kuzma. And it wasn't a yes/no question.. I like the confidence

Hart plays both ends and can hit threes. Ennis seems a very capable backup point guard that can pass.

Clarkson needs to find his shot, and soon.

Dang!, Hart is looking swoll out there. Those injuries he's had meant more time in the weight room. He could be our Draymond. Maybe he could be best suited as backup SF along with Bogut, Kuzma,Ennis,Clarkson.

Hart does look good. He should, he is 22! I would be nice to get some production from him. He could be our new Nwaba with a better shot.
