What am I missing about this guy?

I know it is early pre-season, but Lanny is close to hitting the panic button.

He's a cap space punt and a favor to his agent and Bron's, Rich Paul.

Yep. even with lopez. he was never a great rebounder.

Randle is by far our best rebounder.

after that it goes down hill. Kuzma can't rebound that well as of yet.

Kyle is our pf and is averaging slightly below 3rpg. thats atrocious.

Except for defense, shooting and rebounding, we're doing everything well.

The problem is that we keep drafting players who can't play D and keep signing FA's that can't play D. Then we get guys like Tarik black who played D and rebounded and we don't resign him so that we can add more weak players who don't play D. We have no physical hustle Bruisers and we have nobody willing to defend the rim and have nobody who cares about defense nearly as much as offense.

Hopefully Hart and KCP play ALOT this year, at least they are average defenders. Honestly this lineup

KCP
Hart
Anthony Brown
Larry Nance
Tarik Black

Would beat this lineup

DLO
JC
BI
Randle
Zubac

100 times out of 100. All the FO and most of the fans care about is offensive numbers and the show. We aren't building real "teams", just collection of offensive minded divas who are just waiting for the opposition to shoot so that they can get the ball back.

I'm not sure we're building a team yet. Seems like we're just drafting the best available players and signing stopgaps in preparation of going after big fish next year.

New players the same problem. No defense, no offense, no rebounders. Simple as that.

The talent we have right now is C-.

It's not even B level.

Kuzma is the real deal. Give me another elite scorer and rebounder.

I will call this real progress. This is on Magic and the front office.

The future of the LAKERS HINGE on their decisions in the near future.

And when we don’t get those big fish, we sign more stopgaps and try again. Been doing it for 3 seasons.

Exactly the talent is just not there. In time Lonzo will be on the gallows pole here at LG for lack of assist performance. Ball donors need good recipients that can move without the ball and score. Kuzma was their lucky charm from the draft, and now we need another.

Doesn't every team's future hinge on the front office decisions in the future, by definition ? Wheeee !

Can't tell whether you're predicting Lonzo will deserve to be hoisted in time or you're predicting an unfair treatment that you wouldn't support. Clarity ?

Its a young team with a lot of new faces, some injuries and a shortened training camp. I do not believe this is what the finished product will look like. Give them a few months to jell.

Preseason has definitely been frustrating. I think the hype for this team and players is over the top. Ball, BI, Randle, and KCP are not the players we thought they'd be, "superstars?" I say management rethink the plan for this team. Make some trades or else another 5 years will pass before playoff contention.

We've moved up to the middle of the league (#15) in preseason defensive rating.

If you thought any would be superstars 0-2 years in then that is on you, not them.

The offense will come. The defense has been good the past two games, granted the Kings and Jazz don't have much offensive firepower. Still making progress and I see the effort and that's the key.

A good start, and it passes the eye test. They look like they are defending better.

Getting better. Pace also is affecting the way this team's defense. Looks like the guys prefer running up and down the floor. You won't see suffocating defense in that kind of environment. But the effort is starting to show itself.

#Speaking of defense.......

Defense Is Biggest Key Headed Into New Season

Quote:
As the 2017-2018 season approaches, one aspect about the Los Angeles Lakers remains certain. They will need to play better defense on a consistent basis to be taken seriously and be competitive in a loaded conference.

isn't that mostly based of that horrific show we put on with the Kings...combined with the small sample? Where are the Kings in the ranking...since they held us to only 75 points.

Yeah of course it's all a small sample. We've had some bad games and some good games at that end. (Kings are 20th)
