There’s a “chance” but I also think it will only happen if this team takes a significant step forward on the court.

No star will come to a team that’s not ready to make that jump.

I think the key ingredients will be make the playoffs and show signs of future greatness, obviously if we meet the Warriors in the first round and get blown out all four games it will be hard to sell him, but if we can win some home games in the first round we can sell him to joining this team, LBJ is great enough to turn a 8th seed into a 1 or 2 seed on his own, add George or Cousins and we have a legitimate title contender

I really really doubt LeBron will ever play for the Lakers. The Lakers bring a lot of these heartbreaking fake news every year about getting a top free agents, and all that does is just give everyone false hopes. Stop the LBJ, the PG13, Westbrook etc. because the chance of that ever happening is practically zero. The best thing is to sign players that they think are productive and will continue to produce and try to move others to cover for their weaknesses.
Getting back to the top is going to take years, and small good moves here and there will eventually pay off.

You sound like a fake Laker fan, obviously your not thinking about all those retired jerseys

You're either trolling me by calling me a fake Laker fan or you just don't know anything about how today's NBA works. In the old days it was easy for teams to acquire the best, particularly a team made so popular by Dr. Buss. Now nobody cares about coming to LA. That's the problem everybody thinks there's something special about the Laker brand and Los Angeles. The truth is that players want to win now, and if you don't have a team ready to compete for a ring you're never going to get any of those top players. So this yearly fake news about LeBron or any other superstar is just that FAKE.

This was posted here way back on Sept 29th when the article was written. It is a satire piece making fun of those believing Lebron is coming here. It should be ignored....don't give it more hits.

I very rarely (actually have never) said this....but

Lol, it did get me fooled, because I thought the Ringer was full of guys who write NBA stuff and not make fun of teams, whoever wrote that should be ashamed of himself.

Oh snap!

Jalen Rose, the first guy who ever said LeBron was coming to the Lakers just said on ESPN he's not so sure if LeBron is coming anymore.

But he did say he believes Paul George is coming to the Lakers and they may be able to "shake loose" DeMarcus Cousins.

I honestly think it's going to be Cuz and George.

On the same note I could see us swoop in and steal George but then OKC turn around and entice Cousins.

So fun to speculate I do it all the time, but pretty meaningless.

Durant to Rockets.
Westbrook to Lakers.

I don't think Lebron coming to LA is "fake news" in fact I hate the term "fake news" because most of the media world are honest hard working reporters, and if you read between the lines you will see that even Vegas has opened a prop bet that gives Lebron the odds of 4/1 that he will sign, that's the same odds as the Pats winning the Superbowl, are professional betting think tanks "fake news" or am I smoking something I shouldn't...all I know is that with cap space to sign two max players and young talent that we have are the right ingredients to lure a superstar here, remember that there was a day before Kareem signed, a day before Shaq signed, a day before Kobe resigned...think about it

This speculation is just speculation. Until we see how the season plays out, any FA that wins, or comes very close to winning a championship, will likely stay, it's that simple. So pick the guy(s) you want as Lakers, then root for their teams to explode. It's simply a subset of the pro-tank mindset employed in the past.

Lebron’s team is too stacked for him to leave, so is PG’s team. I think we are better off focusing our attention elsewhere.

Lopez would say no if he puts up a 20 / 7 year.
