It would be pretty ironic if Russell averaged 20 ppg this season. |

The salary dump wasn't the main motivation behind the trade, it was just a convenient excuse. The trade was all about avenging Byron. Russell was a dead man walking the moment Magic was hired. |

No. It was all rumor and innuendo. |

Maybe, although maybe not with their unselfish scheme. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel |

I was posting in this thread that Russell would be gone before the next season as soon as Magic and Pelinka came aboard. |

The biggest irony would be if he became an All Star in the depleted East and then came to the LA All Star game without the Lakers having an All Star of their own.

I told multiple friends, Lakers fans or otherwise, that D'Lo was gone the moment Magic was hired. I also said that I knew I sounded like a crazy conspiracy theorist. So, you aren't alone. |

It would be a real nice wake up call to Magic and Jeannie. |

Nope cuz they're convinced Bron and PG13 are coming this summer. |

There is the possibility that it will be more difficult to get rid of unwanted contracts (Mozgov & Deng) next summer than it was this past summer.
If they have LeBron and PG ready to sign and the final hurdle is clearing enough cap space, stretching both Mozgov and Deng would be a huge hit against the team salary for five seasons.
If they would want to dump Mozgov with no salary coming back in a difficult market, the cost could be higher than just Russell if the deal is even possible. |
Agreed.
But the flip side is -- you only need to dump Mozgov or Deng IF you have two maxes coming in the first place.
It's why I've always said that the trade will ultimately be judged on whether we get 2 maxes or not. Though I think the Ingram vs. Russell angle might haunt us down the line, too. |

Same. For a few weeks Magic did have me convinced he'd be patient, admittedly. |

I'm really still not over DLO. That's how much of a blunder I think it is. Its not like Pedro Martinez or anything but it sure as hell feels like it.
Am I supposed to give Byron and Magic passes because they are legendary Lakers? I'm just so sick of the showtime dinosaurs. |

Well, too be fair, I don't think Luke Walton went to bat for D'Lo.
The funny thing is if the Lakers offered Ingram for Russell now, the Nets would not be motivated unless we took Mozgov's contract. LOL! And to make contracts work, we need to throw in Brook's expiring. |

I'm still amazed how many people would keep a best friend that sets you up and ruins your relationship for giggles/internet attention.
If you like Dlo, be happy he gets to play in the East to show out a bit.
Dlo, lin are not the second coming of the splash bros they're just a couple starters in the east. _________________ KOBE!!! |
