Such a big difference when you have an all star caliber player.
So nice having a player who's a legit version of sorry Zubac.

That was fun watching when Lopez was out there! Got just a glimpse of what this team could look like on a good night at the start of this game. I really liked how the Laker defense shut the Kings down out of the gate. It's also clear what an offensive threat Lopez is.

I look forward to seeing a full lineup at some point. I hope we see Lopez healthy for 70+ games this season.

Brook looked terrific in limited minutes. I can't wait to see a larger sample size of what he really brings to the team.

It’s amazing how good his offensive game is, if he ends up having a career year the Lakers will be hard pressed to let him walk in FA.

After watching Brook play the last couple of games I'm even more excited to know he'll be ours for just the MLE next summer.

Exactly. This ones for the people who keep calling the Russell trade a salary dump. Lopez is the best player in the deal.

This point is moot, unless you think the Lakers will being signing Lopez to a contract next year.

If they sign Lopez it's a failure. The Russell salary dump was for two maxes for instant contention. Lopez is not that guy. Good player, but not good enough to warrant trading a talented 21 year old for him.

I think they will, I'm not buying into the PG13/LeBron fantasy.

If lopez is worth a max then it's a good trade. No chance we get him without trading for him

1. Lopez looks huge out there
2. He is a legit force on offense
3. Can't wait to see him with Lonzo
4. Can't wait to see end of game lineup of Lopez, Randle, BI, Kuzma & Lonzo

Many people seem down about the performance of the Lakers but that seems to be an over reaction.

We have learned the following:

Lopez is the real deal and a game changer
Kuzma is going to be a force and is a real steal.
Randle has really improved in every aspect of the game
Lonzo is going to be really good
Clarkson has improved

That is a lot of positive things but we need the following to materialize

BI: Remember the all round game and get your shots in the flow of the offense like you did last game. Take good shots
KCP: Assert yourself more and show us something special
Nance: Step up an bring energy and aggressiveness
Zu: Put that 8% to use and earn some minutes
Hart: Stay healthy keep doing what you do and you will earn some minutes
Ennis: Looks like JC is going to have to play back up PG

Prediction
BI gets it together and gets comfortable and takes off but that may mean 15, 5, 3 which is not bad. Plus he plays really good defense

Lopez goes for 18 to 20 with 7 boards and plays good defense

Randle goes for 15, 9, 5 and becomes our best defensive player

KCP: takes a while to get comfortable but steps up and plays really good defense and hits for 15 with 5 boards

Lonzo is a great passer and gets his outside shot to fall regularly. He goes for 14, 6, 8

Kuzma on bench mob with Randle & JC and goes for 13, 5, 3

JC part of big 3 bench mob goes for 14, 3, 5

Nance, Zubac, Brewer & Hart all contribute

Lakers win more than they lose and make playoffs

Need BI and KCP to get comfortable and productive which is a very high probability. Need the team to jell and play with unity on offense and defense. Need guys to get healthy. We are going to be Okay and Lopez will lead the way.

I don't know about that. Without Lopez the starting center would've been Zubac or maybe Bogut if he could get healthy. That would be rough. The center position's been a problem for a while now. I feel ill thinking about Hibbert. I think Lopez has considerable value to the team and I hope they'll find a way to keep him.

True, but the context is next year. If Lopez is one of those signed to a max contract next year, which I'm predicting he will not, then we are basically sentencing ourselves to the good, but never good enough to win it all tier.

He's a star, and stars make the playoffs with help, but it's the superstars that win it all.

I love Lopez's game. I don't know how anyone can say if we resign him its a failure (especially not knowing the terms). If we signed Lopez for South of 20 million, I think it would be a great signing. The guy is a talent and I for one do not think its a forgone conclusion that he will not be a Laker next year. He is going to have a BIG year this year. He is going to lead us to respectability and being close to a .500 team.
