22. Los Angeles Lakers
Projected 2017-18 record: 34-48
Last season: 26-56 | Missed playoffs

Lonzo Ball averaged a Las Vegas Summer League-record 9.3 assists per game. Only three Lakers rookies averaged even five assists per game in their first season: Magic Johnson (7.3), Norm Nixon (6.8) and Nick Van Exel (5.8).

I would be pleased with that record, I question how we will score more than 100 points a night.

Outside of Lopez, I question if any other Laker has the ability to score more than 15ppg in their projected capacity. I know Randle and Clarkson can if given the opportunity, but they will likely be capped on the bench while Luke continues confuse the hell out of all of us.

I'd be cool with that. More interested where their pick ends up so I can rub into into Sixers Reddit faces. "Oh hey you traded your 11th pick that won ROY for our tenth pick 3-4 years later. Wow, such genius #trusttheprocess".

(and of course, if the pick ends up being #1 or even worse, goes to the Celts at #2, I would quit the basketball internet for 6 months).

I'm a bit lost. Who was the 11th pick that became RotY?

Per 2.0, Lonzo will average 13 APG this year.

He will get close to it, if players are making shots off of his passes, people don’t quite realize that the ball is gonna be moving every single time that Lonzo Ball plays, if guys are engaged and there finishing plays when there getting feed by Ball, then hell yeah he will get 10+ assists.

That matches my prediction, so I'm good. May likely depend on injuries. We are a deeper team than last year though, albeit with less 3pt shooting.

ESPN's power ranking (#22) seems a little generous to me (my guess more like #25) but their win forecast is dead on to mine. Of course, obtaining the 34 wins will require very good health from Ball, Ingram, KCP and from the three headed center monster (the Chimera), Lopez-Bogut-Zubac.

I have the Lakers winning 30 games. IF ESPN is right, I'd be very pleased..

No one's average 13 assists per game in a quarter century. I could see him getting between 7-9 assists per game

that # 20 rank for philly is wack, and just based on hype IMO. We will have similar records end of season.

34 wins is my prediction. Maybe I should work for ESPN. 22 sounds about right. We're one of those teams that won't make the playoffs but won't be at the bottom bottom either.

I agree with the ranking. 22nd in the league. 13th in a deadly Western Conference.

Maybe 1 or 2 of those Eastern Conference teams ranked lower than us will have a better record than us at the end of the year since the East is weaker than the West. But I still think we're better than IND, ORL, BRK, CHI, ATL, NYK.

It's really hard to predict how many wins we can get. I think we will be much better than last year, but it all depends on 3 point shooting, I think as well as defense. They did play better defense the last 3 or 4 games, except the very last game!

He has the team at 37 wins, but suggested that he has no idea what there real potential is, I think even some of the experts have no idea how the Lakers will do, we are kinda like a darkhorse.

ESPN has us at 34 wins, Nylon Calculus has us at 28. Likely somewhere in between. I will stick with 31 with 36 being a number that would really make me happy.

I'm sticking with 40 wins. We're going to be slow getting out of the gate, but once XMas comes around this team is going to start clicking.
