That has literally nothing to do with that. Tatum was the 3rd overall pick, and expected to start. Kuzma was the 27th pick. _________________

If Kuz gonna start, it's BI that has to go to the 2nd unit |

Or because KCP is out the first two games, just start Kuzma there?
Crazy idea surely, but hey, it could work? He does work great with Lonzo the most so why not have that chemistry together on the court instead of separating them?
Bah, what do I know? We all know Luke will just start Deng or Clarkson, MAYBE even both. _________________ Darvin Scam: https://media.tenor.com/images/3c15249955860a4b16b59e8ae035fb75/tenor.gif |

Zo, KCP, BI, Kuz, and Lopez isn't that much of a difference than the lineup Boston started yesterday with Kyrie, Smart, Brown, Tatum, Horford.
Of course we don't have Kyrie but he lacks the passing skills of Lonzo and it's showing early this year. Horford and Lopez both don't offer much rebounding from the C position. |

Yes, Luke is trying to win this season. If we had Tatum he would probably be starting. |
The difference between Kuzma and Tatum right now is negligible and Kuzma actually might be slightly better. |

So, let's talk about Kuz's fantasy value.
I have him on an ESPN Fantasy League. Another Laker fan just offered me Dario Saric for Kuz straight up. Should I pull the trigger? _________________ www.lakersbrasil.com

Kuz put up monster SPL numbers, then proceeded to be one of the leading scorers during preseason.
Kuz's only fault right now is that he hasn't played a regular season NBA game, and it's not even his own fault. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I have Kuz on my team, plus Lonzo and Randle for that matter, on one of the LG Fantasy Leagues. Even though Saric was picked 4 rounds ahead of Kuzma, I wouldn't do that deal. |

It's hard to say which of them will have more value by the end of the season.
Saric depends on whether injuries or poor play by his teammates puts him back in a starting role.
Kuz depends on whether his preseason and summer league player translates to the regular season.
Too many unknowables for me to predict who will be better. I probably wouldn't do the trade because I don't have any sense if it would help me out. |

Kuzma may not start right away but I expect 20 plus minutes a night and eventually he will take the starting role - either from BI or Randle.
The biggest difference between Kuzma and Brandon and Julius is the three years experience playing in college, and coming here day one with real shooting skills. |

Yes long term Tatum looks like a great prospect. But as of today, right now, Kuzma is arguably better and proved that even with limited minutes and touches in pre season. |

This is why some of us are upset. It's all politics. Kuzma is arguably better than most lottery picks at this moment and yet he won't start. I'm not even mad because I like Kuzma I think he just gives us our best chance of competing in today's NBA. |

Where your drafted.. .why does that matter? Anthony Bennett, the #1 pick a few years ago, is out of the league. The point is if you can play, you can play. Who cares where you're drafted. Luke doesn't make the obvious decisions. He's either a mad scientist, or his moves are based on team politics. Meaning Deng makes too money, Bogut has a ring, etc. |

Only he isn’t better. Tatum looked good and out performed him against a solid NBA team. Kuzma did well in garbage time against bench players. I know it is only one game but Kuzma is nowhere close to being an NBA starter. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Line-up of Ball, Brewer, Ingram, Kuzma, Lopez looked nice out there to close the game. _________________
