Say the Pelicans are are imploding and NO decides to put him on the trade market, would you want the Lakers to go after him or do you ride out the season with the same roster?

Lopez + Randle + 2018 & 2019 2nd Rounders I imagine is our offer. Can't afford to give up a first rounder and the irony of giving up Ingram for Cousins would be so rich, the entire front office would need emergency dental surgery.

I would be all for trading Ingram for Cousins right about now. Too bad we can't add Hield to the deal though.

Not trading for anyone or anything until at least 30 games have passed. Let's see what we have first, geez.

You don't think both Lopez and DMC can play the 4 and 5? Would love to see if both can be effective

So we are trading for a superstar that couldn't win 30 gams with the Kings and then is playing with another consensus top-10 player and the team is imploding?

Explain why you would want Cousins?

probably could've had him last year for BI. I have a feeling Jeanie brought in Magic and stopped the trade

You have to think from the perspective of why the front office would want him. They essentially promised a big name (names, really) this summer and they're going to strike out big time on PG and LeBron. The young player they traded away to make room for said names is likely to vastly outplay the young players they kept.

Magic dumped on the previous regime from the sideline for years. If his team underperforms even those crappy records (and with no tank strategy to cover for it), he will be scrambling for a scapegoat and/or a shiny toy to distract from the real narrative. Cousins might be all he has.

Mitch was either not allowed to trade a Ingram for Cousins or fired for being unable to get him for less than that. No way they can trade Ingram for him now.

You guys are putting too much faith in free agency. If we could get any star player via trading, we should definitely do it. PG13 is still a big IF at the moment so yeah, I'd take any star player that wants to come here as long as the price is right.

This. The poll left out the option for "I don't want Boogie with the Lakers period"

PG13 is a star. Cousins is not. Cousins is a loser. If he can't win paired with Anthony Davis, he will never be a winner.

Even with that, if it only took Randle and Clarkson for Cousins, you make that trade.

Cousins cap-hold is $19m which gives you the possibility to add 2 more max contracts with him.

This would be my vote too.

I realize it sucks to lose. It sucks to be faced with a rebuild. But Cousins?

Talented but a malcontent. Plays minimal defense, pouts and kills team chemistry when he doesn't get his way. And throws teammates and coaches under the bus every time he gets disgruntled on a whim.

This is the player you want to build around and pay a max contract to?

No thanks.

I'm intrigued by the idea of getting Cousins this summer as a FA, but his history of being a knucklehead concerns me. To those of you who definitely want him, can you see him being a leader on a championship team? Has he pouted and feuded with teammates and coaches because he's never been on a team with proper leadership and a healthy culture, or because he's a dumba$$?

The Suns are practically hard capped. We would have to take Asik or Moore along with Cousins, and they have 2/3 years left on their contracts. With just Lopez we could take a $4 mil ending contract in return. They might do it for just Lopez, maybe he ends up being a better fit beside Davis and they re-sign him.

We already crapped the bed on George, let’s not do it again. Though it wouldn’t surprise me if NO hung on to him and tries re-signing him.

Shudder. Do not acquire Cousins. Poison. Loser. Head case. Selfish. History.

I remember Adrian Dantley too well.
