Former NBA Sixth Man of the Year Ben Gordon was reportedly hospitalized for psychiatric evaluation after he was involved in a confrontation with a woman at his business in Mount Vernon, New York, on Saturday.
Citing a police report, The Journal News' Jonathan Bandler reported authorities were called to On Our Own—a sports rehabilitation and recovery clinic owned by Gordon—and witnessed a "distraught woman crying and shaking just inside the entrance" after the two had apparently gotten into an argument.
When police arrived, the woman was locked in the building and Gordon was seen "with a box cutter in his possession," per Bandler. Emergency personnel had to cut through the window to let the woman out of the business and discovered Gordon in the bathroom where he was handcuffed.
Gordon was later transferred to St. Vincent's Hospital in Harrison, New York, but was not charged with a crime.
It's Gordon's second reported run-in with the law this year.
In June, TMZ Sports reported Gordon was arrested in Los Angeles after he pulled fire alarms in frustration because he was locked out of his apartment.
Bandler reported Tuesday that a spokesman for the Los Angeles City Attorney's office said, "Gordon failed to appear in court in late June and a bench warrant for his arrest was issued."
Gordon, 34, spent 11 seasons in the NBA following a decorated career at the University of Connecticut that included a 2004 national championship.
He last played for the Orlando Magic in 2015 but spent a short stint with the G League's Texas Legends earlier this year.

During his rookie season, I remember thinking Gordon would be a superstar someday.
There was one game in 2009 against the Celtics where he was hitting everything. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
