I'm sick of Julius Randle, he should be way better than what he is. _________________ The most important shot in basketball. |

Just as the Lakers have fallen since the demise of Dr. Buss. It starts at the top. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

DLO having another nice game today.
The only good thing about the trade to the Nets is he might screw the Cavs out of a top-5 pick. |

I'd assume they'd want to use their pick to trade for an elite player to pair with Lebron - which they probably can only do if it top-3. If it is say 6-10, they might have trouble trading the pick for anyone that moves the needle enough.
Although, if the pick is top-3, do they think about rebuilding completely if they can't win this year? |

There is a lot of young talent in the league eclipsing the Lakers' core right now. A failure in 2018 is gonna be baaaaaaaad _________________ Austin Reaves

The Cavs own the Nets pick not the Lakers pick |

Lo and behold, Orlando was patient with Aaron Gordon after jerking him around through three different coaches and multiple position switches, and may finally have a star. They also gave up on Oladipo and Tobias Harris early in pursuit of established vets to get them into the playoffs asap, and both those guys are going ham early this season.
Which is a call to both Magic and us fans to be patient. |

Right. Another example is Donovan Mitchell who looked amazing in preseason. He’s been struggling since the regular season started; maybe Utah will trade him to the lakers
Edit: now he’s on fire in the 4th |

Besides DLo, the Lakers have kept all their young'ns right?
Who did the magic bring in for Victor and Tobias? A max guy? |

It's proscriptive, not just descriptive.
1) The Magic traded Ilyasova, Oladipo, and the rights to Sabonis to OKC for Ibaka, and then traded Ibaka to Toronto for Terrence Ross and the #25 pick. The Magic then traded the #25 pick (the rights to big man A. Pasceniks) to the Sixers for OKC's 2020 1st (top-20 protected in 2020/21, then converts to two 2nd round picks in 2023/24) and a 2020 Philly 2nd.
2) The Magic traded Tobias Harris to Detroit for Ersan Ilyasova and Brandon Jennings in an effort to clear cap, open up more playing time for Aaron Gordon at SF, and try to make a push for the playoffs. Only one of those things worked out, and the Magic used their additional cap space to pursue Al Horford before pivoting to Bismack Biyombo. Obviously Iltasova was also part of the Ibaka trade.
(Interestingly, Ilyasova was traded along with a conditional 2020 1st from OKC to Philly for Jerami Grant, the very same 2020 OKC 1st that Orlando acquired when trading the rights to Paceniks to Philly!)
Overall Orlando haul for trading Harris and Oladipo:
- Terrence Ross
- Bismack Biyombo (signed into cap space)
- 2020 1st via OKC (top-20 protected)
- 2020 2nd via Philly |

I'd like to suggest that this thread be renamed "True Fans Who Are Not Afraid to Criticize our Beloved Lakers".
As is, the current titles likely purpose is to belittle and marginalized its participants. |

Thanks for all that!
Not the best haul.
They seem to be playing well this year. |

F* Tragic.
Lopez is POS. Can't believe we traded a 21 yr old starting to blossom in his third season. |
