Lakers, Dodgers, and Manchester United all won today...

Perfect sports day for me, even though United didn't play well.

We are making progress and looking good for the future.

If we play defense like this all year, we'll win the championship if the offense is somewhat consistent.

The Lakers outscored the Pistons in each of the four quarters.

The ball movement, defense and communication were all outstanding tonight, our most complete game of the season so far.

Fam, we might have a respectable defense. That’s what I’m most happy about...refreshing to see low scores by some of our opponents.

No way we win the championship even if we keep this defense up. The playoffs are a different animal and we would probably be picked apart. Our poor shooting would be exposed. If you think first game jitters are bad, just wait till these young guys get to the playoffs.

Best in years for fans of the three sports... Rams too... even though they had a bye week. Been especially rough for United and Lakers fans the last four years, but hopefully we can reap some of the rewards of our patience.

*RECAP:

Ball, Lakers romp to 113-93 win over Pistons
Quote:
The Los Angeles Lakers were locked in to deliver their best effort of the season. The Detroit Pistons were anything but ready, and the gap between the two mindsets was obvious.

Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy was unsure about how his team might handle the adulation associated with a surprising 5-2 start, and those concerns proved to be well-founded in a loss he described as a ''humbling experience.
