It's like he jinxed himself. Bet he didn't expect his bank account to be this when he bragged that. He better spend carefully unlike majority of athletes. _________________ Showtime 2.0

Remember when people here were saying Okafor was the next Tim Duncan and Towns was the next Al Horford? _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
Don't you think Magic still wants Oak? He really wanted him in 2015 IIRC. Maybe Magic's no longer high on Zubac, and would package him for Oak (and I'm not judging the merits, just saying Magic had expressed interest in Oak before). _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

I liked Okafor as a prospect but it was funny to see the mental gymnastics people were doing to pretend like Okafor was a better pick than KAT was. That said, KAT (at least offensively) was much better in the NBA than he ever showed at Kentucky.

I was disappointed when Jim and Mitch chose Russell over Okafor. I blame his poor play in Philly on him not wanting to be there. In my eyes he didn't give a 100% and that lowered his value because that shows lack of professionalism. I believe he's a better player than he's shown. He's only 21 with a lot of upside. I like him for the right price. Zuback to date hasn't lived up to expectations.
EDIT He hasn't played well enough to warrant a raise. If we could get him at $4,995,120 it would be a steal comparable to 27th. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Damn. Wow.
Pretty amazing the 76ers completely whiffed on Oak and still have a core of Embiid/Simmons, and Fultz (assuming that whack stuff is all worked out).
The Philadelphia curse has struck again. Fultz out indefinitely. Embiid, Simmons now Fultz. The first round #1 is probably praying he's not chosen by Philly. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Maybe Nets should sign him. Then DLo and Oak well wishers will be on the same side. Seriously, Nets lack enough NBA talent and maybe it's better to have Oak who might give 18-20 points than Moz who is meh on both ends. They got a young rim protector in Jarrett Allen as well so maybe Oak can be useful as a scorer like Kanter. _________________ Showtime 2.0

He should go to San Antonio. No joke.
I envy their reclamation projects, quite a development staff they have churning out contributing players.
Some of the best player development in the league. I love Dejounte Murray, but he doesn't even have range outside of 15'. Yet, the Spurs can make him effective. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

As long as they don't pair Okafor and DLo - that would be a layup line out of the PnR. Start Allen with DLo and pair Okafor with Dinwiddie off the bench.
Celtics reportedly unwilling to swap first-rounder for Okafor
Okafor is out of the 76ers' rotation and has recently requested a buyout
Quote:
Philadelphia does not want to buy out his contract and then watch him sign with a conference rival with no compensation. The Celtics have long held interest in Okafor, but as more of a project than an immediate contributor. Boston is also not willing to part with a first-round pick for Okafor
Even with the glut of extra first-round picks they still have, this makes plenty of sense from the Celtics point of view. The Sixers have absolutely no leverage in this situation considering they've basically made it clear he won't get on the floor for them this season. Plus, it doesn't make sense for the Celtics to give up a valuable first-round pick for a player they see as a long-term project, but who will be an unrestricted free agent in the summer. You don't give up firsts for a half-season or so rental on a player you think might be good.
