If we can sustain the character of a defensive(!) team through this year, that will be great change in culture. Things can only go up from there. |

Anyone expecting Ball to score nightly will always be disappointed. He needs to be a threat, and he will, but in the meantime he’ll always help you win in some form or fashion other than just scoring.
Right now, he’s a role player. In the future, he’ll probably be a hall of fame role player.
Like I’ve said before, I don’t see him ever averaging 17 a game, and I’m perfectly cool with it. |
Hall of fame is kinda farfetched.... |
I’ll concede that, but, to me, he’ll be an elite role player/fifth option one day, maybe even average a triple double like Westbrook and Robertson.
I wouldn’t have drafted him number two, but I’ve always said that he’s the type of player that will definitely win rings in the league, and I still feel that way. |

But if the defense knows they can play off him. Or that they can essentially play 3 on 5 when he's on the court. That's a problem.
Problem is, Lonzo did some of his best damage off ball with another playmaker in the starting lineup with him. Lakers are only utilizing half of what he's really good at and trying to force him to be a scorer or 'traditional' point guard at the same time.
It doesn't work cause that's not his game.
If the FO understood that they wouldn't have traded Russell for Lopez, as that wouldn't have fit with Lonzo best in the back court to maximize HIM.
But they obviously didn't. And the way they try to utilize him in the 'offense' it's obvious they don't. |
I completely agree with this. Lonzo fits so well next to Dlo... too bad we traded him. We were trying to get rid of cap space in Mozgov and all the other bad trades. Look at Deng... where is he now ??? _________________ “The guy said NBA players are one in a million, ... I said, 'Man, look, I'm going to be that one in a million.'” - Kobe Bryant |

After being down big, the team clawed back to make it competitive. This is huge progress from the last few seasons. I still would have liked to see them win. _________________ “When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the loser.”

Lonzo needs to attack these point guards. Way too much respect for Lillard’s defense. If he had the same mentality on offense as he had getting in Lillard’s face on defense, he would have created more. Don’t give too much respect to these PGs, Lonzo. |

You’ll probably flame me for this, but that off ball shooting and secondary playmaker for Ball role will be filled this offseason.
Whether it’s LBJ or George (or both), you’ll see Ball in that role soon enough.
Also, you and others will forget about Russell soon enough as well. |

The refs were making favorable calls to the Blazers when we had momentum, after all these years they still have there agenda to screw us over.

If Lonzo is not going to shoot maybe Josh Heart should start. I'm done with the Lonzo experiment this year. Bring him off the bench. |

He needs to actually look to shoot once in a while. Horribly passive game today. It's great to get the ball to guys, but you can't just float on offense the entire (bleep) game. DO SOMETHING. |

Yeah, I'm really upset that we don't have one of the worst defensive playing chuckers in the league next to ball. Such a mistake, man....I miss DLO so much. I loved when we lost all of those games with him then he'd hit a shot in summer league and celebrate like he'd accomplished something. The team division, the poor defense individually and as a team...man, sure wish he was back!
I like our team now, I'm a fan...hearing this DLO BS every time something doesn't go our way is super weak. |

Wasn’t upset with the raptors loss because I pretty much expected them to lose the lead and eventually lose lol but this one stings

all i can ask for is for a good close game where the players play hard and try to win.
the talent is there but the need for a superstar is what will push them over the top. |

D-Lo and Ball together would be essentially what we get whenever JC and Ball play together right now.
Not sure what would be so amazing about that. |

They're both ball dominant score-first players. DLO passes a little more than Clarkson does, but that's not saying much. |
