Hey 24 —

This is one of those “adult” discussions that I miss so much.

The New York Times just came out with an excellent article with research, data and statistics about "why" this happens. I posted a link to the article with snippets in the Politics thread. I highly recommend reading entire article for the people trying to understand the "why?"

Yeah, because you're really "adult" when you do things like say "shooo!" and intentionally misspell people's screen names etc.

"Why" is certainly of the utmost importance. "How" is as well. And when it comes every other threat to people's safety, the rational and reasonable people look to the "hows" and find ways to minimize the risks. That's how things like seat belts, crash helmets, smoke detectors etc. come into regulation.

From now on, any mass shooting threads or terrorist act threads are going to be merged into the political thread. These things cannot be discussed without getting into politics.
