Updating D'Angelo Russell's per-36-minute numbers (because I don't understand why Kenny Atkinson does't play anyone starter minutes): 27 PTS, 7.8 AST, 6 REB & 1.4 STL. Who's hit those marks for a full season? LeBron in 2009-10, Harden in 2016-17 and Westbrook twice. That's it.

According to some on here they had to move him because he was a cancer. The front office, coaching staff, and teammates didn't like him according to experts on here.

Unfortunately that's the only one that mattered and they were right. Mozdeng. The Gift that Keeps on Giving.

Couldn't we have just waited until they expired and gone into the 2020 offseason with:

D'Angelo Russell (24)
Lonzo Ball (22)
Brandon Ingram (22)
Kyle Kuzma (24)

...and a crapload of cap space?

But you don't understand. D'Angelo rubbed Byron the wrong way and the Lakers sign stars by birthright. And if we don't have one, some people get heartbroken.

If he's somehow able to back all the BS salesmanship up with two max FAs next summer, all will be forgiven. That's a big if, though...

But even if he wanted to win now, there were ways to do it without trading Dlo (i.e., stretch provision, trading future picks next summer when the Moz/Deng deals are shorter, etc). So it wasn't all because of that, the new FO just didn't think much of Dlo, plain and simple. They've made it pretty clear since the trade. The Showtime cartel can go screw themselves...

Russell's "not a leader" and "not someone people want to play with", though.

But he's not even "getting it now". He traded Russell a year early to hopefully get it next summer.

DLo 15 points from 5-9. Nets down 16 at HT. Only following box score. No Spencer Dinwiddie tonight so Nets are really stretched.

Tight game now. But DLo got injured and went to the tunnel a minute ago. Maybe an ankle sprain.

I actuallu think that was the plan with MozDeng. Get a couple guys who wont get in the way, overpay to hold cap space while the young guys develop and get reps, and when they are ready .... go shopping.

One of my fears of the Magic route, is that the young player(s) decides to Kyrie somewhere else where they can be the man rather than a sidekick or role player.

Funny how most were like how ZO-DLo back court will be one of the worst defensively. While ZO is playing good defense and Lakers really missing a 20 PPG scorer who can close the games.
