I'm surprised they have established any team chemistry or system at all.
Message from the front office has been clear. You guys don't matter. You are just obstacles in the way of our plan for next year. Not sure how anyone could expect any players to commit or be unselfish.
At the very least the FO could have given the message of "prove yourself and you will be rewarded". But that message doesnt make headlines, does it? |

KCP turned down a 5 year 80 million dollar contract.
He is exactly as advertised, a streaky, athletic player who works hard on defense. Little bit of a chucker. I think Clarkson is better offensively, but KCP is much better defensively. So by this standard, I can see him being worth somewhere between Clarkson's salary and Detroit's offer... but not 5 for 80... and certainly not more as I'm sure he will be seeking.
Falls into the same category as Randle... good middle of the road player who sees himself as an all-star. If there were no salary cap, you would sign both of them... but there is, so you don't. |

KCP is not a ball hog, Clarkson on the other hand is sometimes out of control with his over dribbling. He looked like the old JC last night trying to get into the middle where there was no shot, and eventually falling and losing the ball. I though Luke did a horrible job of coaching, at that moment he should have realized that his bench was not working and put in Ennis or Caruso to right the ship. Instead he kept using Clarkson as the pg/sg etc.
I hate when coaches coach for players and not for wins. |

I don't have enough of a background watching KCP to notice if he's playing more selfishly or not (his assists numbers and usage suggest he's not). I remember GT in his video preview on him noting that he had bad shot selection. |

narrative on the guy has always been he is a average shooter, but an above average bad shot maker. I think that is a slightly positive thing. |

KCP occasionally takes bad shots just like anyone else in the league. However if he's viewed as a ball hog he'd certainly be the #2 ball hog on this team behind Clarkson.
KCP is a nothing more than a hired gun this season. At least his defense is solid and he has decent handles. |

KCP is a shooting guard.
You will rarely find a natural SG who doesn't play a little selfishly.
It's in their DNA.
The key is to set the offense up in a way where it doesn't bog down into that.
I don't think we're playing as selfish one dimensional basketball as last year.
What does hurt us is we don't have that consistency from our 2 best players in the starting 5.
Lopez needs to give us 15 a night every night.
Ball needs to be more consistent.
When that happens, we'll win more games.
However I don't think we've done all that bad this season, considering how poorly Ball has shot the ball most of the season. |

I think he is what he is. A 1 year mercenary. I was happy we got him as an expiring as he was probably the best one we could get under those circumstances. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I'm actually surprised each time his shot drops. I'll take the occasional Bad JC impression if he keeps D'ing up. _________________ We back. |

JC's numbers are legit even despite his failed forcings. KCP would go unsuccessfully rogue far more if he wasn't playing alongside Zo. But he's been playing nice D and the effort is always there, regardless of how the rest of his game is going.
Same issues with both players offensively. One just does it less. _________________ We back. |

Let's not get picky here.
We are lucky we got him in the first place. Before KCP became available, everyone here was squabbling over who we should sign next and if I remember correctly, After the G.Hill deal fell through our choices were limited to Ian Clark, CJ Miles, Stuckey, and Afflalo. Think about that.
Offensively, he may not be the best fit but the defense and effort he gives is influential especially to the younger guys. |

Yeah. out of the remainder, he was probably the best (and most reasonable b/c he wanted a 1 year deal it seemed). _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I agree about Clarkson. I have to assume that the team is propping him up so he will have a higher trade value. I will admit that he is a good tool for the offense coming off the bench, but he is really only average over all and holds on the the ball way too much. |

It was him or George Hill. Hill isnt having a good year for the Kings so far (PER-7.7) _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.' Whatever, pow, three. I love the Zen, though." |

KCP is the least of our problems. If other players make their gimme's maybe he will have to shoot less. Not to mention turnovers by JC. Randle looking lost and turn overs. |

He has. I love his intensity on the defensive end, he has surely helped to change the team culture with regards to playing D. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss |
