Among the road games, the PHX stop looks juiciest for Laker success. Otherwise, the trip looks tough enough to test the Laker offense to its limit and beyond. With the Memphis win, the five game stretch shapes up for a 2-3 swing.

Wizards going to take an L at home, sleepwalking against the Mavs. So, unless the lakers end the Celtics win streak, lakers are likely staring at an 0-2 start to trip.

I never bet against Zo, so I'm thinking 4-1 with a tough loss to the Wizards

Wouldn't shock me if we went 1-4 or even 0-5. That's a tough set of teams. The Grizz have been good to start, Irving is going to run all over us, Wall is going to be looking for revenge in Washington, Giannis is too good, and the Suns have actually been playing well since dumping Watson and Bledsoe sitting. I'd be happy if we went 2-3, and absolutely ecstatic if we can go above 0.500 over the next five.

Have you beeen watching these other teams play?

Despite Giannis being great, the Bucks aren't playing well, at all.

The Suns little streak that they have been on came to a crashing halt in NY on Friday. They are still not that good.

The Celtics are good but, they have trouble scoring. You push the pace on them, they can be beaten.

Memphis is good, but at home, we can beat them.

And as for the wiz, they can be beaten on any given night. They are extremely inconsistent.

I think 3-2 is extremely reasonable. We are giving some of these teams a little too much respect. Record wise, we are right there with all of those teams.

This stretch was always going to be tough. Only thing that sucks is that we squandered a chance to steal one against Boston because Luke dug us a huge hole with his dumbass decision to play Bogut and Brewer. If we beat the Suns on Monday, which is no given since they're playing much better (just beat the Wolves) after dropping the dead weight Bledsoe and Watson, I'll be satisfied. 2-3 isn't bad, considering the schedule and the opponents.

Here are the Lakers’ next 5 games. A pretty tough set of opponents, with 4 of the 5 on the road.

11/5 vs Grizzlies
11/8 @ Celtics
11/9 @ Wizards
11/11 @ Bucks
11/13 @ Suns

What are your expectations? 2 and 3 seems reasonable and would give us a record of 6 and 8 over our first 14 games — on a path to win about 35 games this season, which many of us were optimistically projecting.

Anything less than that in the next 5 would be disappointing.

On the other hand, if we win 3+ out of 5, we will have won at least half of our first 14 games and will be in the hunt for a playoff position.

It will be a good test for the young team. I will optimistically predict that we win 3.

What do you expect?

I expected 3 also. I still think they take the phoenix game. 6-8 is still a good start for a young team, considering where they were last year.

And still think Luke's rotations are holding the team back. Guy seems totally indecisive. But that's a subject for another thread.

It won't be over, but we need to win, all the WC teams who have average records right now will go on a winning streak eventually we gotta capitalize at some point if winning is a goal.

If Ball feeds off from the Bucks game then we are in a good spot, hopefully the team is ready to take advantage of the soft schedule.

Like I said in my initial post, happy to go 2-3. This was a tough stretch against some tough teams, and the Lakers were in on nearly every game they lost (Washington excepted, but no way Wall was going to let us win in his city after the embarrassment at Staples) with chances to steal wins on the road. Very encouraging. If we can ever get our shooting to become even just league average, we'll be very dangerous to anyone.

Yup. Early struggles on the road were to be expected, especially with the offense a work in progress (at least I hope it's being worked on), and we arguably played the two best teams in the East. The encouraging thing is that our defense traveled. Very promising sign for the rest of the season that we're still dialed in consistently on that end, and might even have increased our efficiency ranking after tonight (?).

Ok, I updated the thread title for next 6 games.

I would love to go at least 4-2 and get up to .500 on the season. Very doable.

I would be quite happy to be on 10-10 after 20 games.

We are starting basically two rookies, one second year player and two veterans. Two of them are 20 years old. NBA is grown man league. This is already great success to be on 6-8. We improved our defense. Offense is still not that good but it will come I am sure . Only thing what really bothers me is rotations. Blue need to be out of rotations. He cant play. We need to have two starters on the floor all the time.
