No reason to trade him now, he is playing well and we need his scoring punch.

Games like tonight show why I don’t think we will trade JC in season. He brings scoring off the bench at the guard spot. Lonzo and KCP aren’t consistent enough scoring wise.

He's been so good. And while his shooting might regress a bit, he's taking much smarter shots so I don't think he's going to regress too much. But we should trade him now while his value is high. The 2 max plan requires another sacrifice.

How about sacrificing a max?

I don't set the agenda, unfortunately.

He's always had these type of games his problem is playing like this and then coming out with mediocre performance the next game.

Tyreke was a guy I wanted this summer. What did he end up settling for?

I think JC has been mostly consistent this year. He still has those spectacular failure moments but overall he has played how Luke wants him to play.

I would say this year he has had only 3 games that were terrible.

BTW. No TOs tonight.

We'll see if he'll hold up.
2 seasons of many missed games after 2 years of 70+ played.

1 year...$3.29 Million....one of the best value (non rookie) contracts in the league this season.

Great to see Jordan find his groove while leading the team to victory!!

Maybe this will quiet the naysayers for another day or two.

SG Comparison for the Regular Season- Game 14

Interesting game. Defense was great, offense was okay, but we hit our 3s.

KCP - Very active and good defensively. But he did get scorched by Booker. Brewer did a better job defensively. KCP did make his 3s but overall, an average game. For all his positives on this game, there were negatives to counteract the benefits.

JC - Wow. Why can't we see this version of JC? I know why, because he only plays 20 minutes and gets yanked out even when he is playing well. Well not last night, Luke chose to ride him until the end. Finally.

No TO's with 3 assists, 3 boards, and 1 steal. Excellent game.

Hart - DNP. I am starting to think Hart is not ready. He is actually getting DNP's in favor of Blue. He has to learn to shoot the 3s and drive to the hoop, and make them. Otherwise, it will be a short NBA career.

Blue - Got some burn today but didn't really impact the game all that much. Zero's across the board except for 1 assist.

Easy game to call for JC.

Preseason Score:
JC 4
KCP 2
VBlue 0
Hart 0

Regular Season Score:
JC 6
KCP 6
BI 0
Brewer 1
VBlue 0
Hart 1

BTW.....I want to point out that I am a KCP fan since his Detroit days but I am more a Laker fan. I think some fans forget the point of being fans. Be positive and cheer on your team and stop beating down every player with negativity. For all the criticism JC gets, he has actually been real consistent this year and keeping up with any of the guards we have.

I want to see more of JC and KCP on the court together. The fast offense/defense approach is working when we use it.

Why are we keeping track of preseason? I get it when we had 0 regular season sample sizes, but I think we don't need that anymore (and how about the 2 games KCP couldn't play due to suspension)?

Point noted. I will remove preseason and put an asterisk on KCP's total on the next one.

He's going to be too physically drained to perform well in the next game.

Really pleased with how he's playing this year. Yes, some lapses, but overall, gives a much needed scoring punch b/c Lonzo/KCP/Ingram have been inconsistent overall in that department.

Why are you doing a sg comparison when JC has been playing PG for most of the season.

Jordan's scoring carried the O and the team played great D against a high scoring team for the win!

That's a good question and I have considered stopping this but he does play SG for some minutes during the game. For example, last night he played 26 minutes and Zo played 28. So at 48 minutes a game, another player played PG for 20 minutes (48-28). BI played PG for roughly 6 minutes of the 4th. So all in all, JC played PG for 14 minutes (20-6). The other 12 minutes he was at SG.

I think the key is to not play JC in a "set" offense. He doesn't seem to have the vision/discipline for that. He likes the high P&R sets which when it works, is dynamic. The key IMO is to yank him out of the game when he goes ISO heavy and tunnel visioned.

He's a classic 6th man: Can really carry your team when a scoring punch is needed, but he also needs to be on a short leash.

My analogy for JC is that he is like salt. On a bland night, sprinkle a bit and the flavor pops; put too much salt and the dish is ruined. Need to find that right balance. IMO, playing him in fewer minutes seems to keep him more focused and sharp on the court.
